A little truth about "conference pride"

Nobody overdoes it like we do in the SEC, but everybody does it. I work in an office of Purdue and Indiana fans, and they are talking nonstop about the Big Ten and how the SEC is no good anymore. When I try to pinpoint them on who is good from the B1G, I get "Ohio State, and..."

Fans of other conferences don't understand that what actually sets the SEC apart is not just what happens on the field. Having been a long time fan of the old SWC all I can tell people is you cannot explain the SEC. You can only experience it.

True, but before the Sugar Bowl this year they were showing the Cotton Bowl in the Superdome, and a good bit of Osu's band was cheering for Michigan State, so it happens.

If you truley worked with Indiana alumni, you would be blasted with Indinana beat Missouri all off-season long.
It isn't just about Ohio State having the best college football coach in the country. It is about Michigan becoming elite again with the hiring of one of the best football coaches at any level. PSU dominating their region of the country again in recruiting like they did for decades and when they won national titles and had undefeated seasons.
And Michigan State is the ONLY team in the country to FINISH INT HE TOP 5 AP POLL THE LAST TWO SEASONS.
So it isn't just about Ohio State.

My thoughts are it is easier to hate someone when they have an easy to hate chant. S-E-C happens to be one
The Big Ten can't do B-I-G...
My care about conference strength is only so OSU can get into the playoff. If the B1G is so weak it is the Mountain West then the champion may not get the mileage needed to get in
