Yes, they scored 76 against UT Martin in the opener. That's impressive until you realize that UT Martin was 113th among all FCS schools in total defense last year. FCS
Yes, they scored 73 against Fresno State last weekend. That's impressive until you realize that Fresno State was 93rd among all FBS schools in total defense last year.
Yes, they can throw the ball to wide open defensive linemen against the worst of the worst. Yes, they can run plays fast against teams that basically get out of the way when they line up.
I'm not saying they can't beat Bama. I'm just saying use a little perspective when jumping on the Ole Miss bandwagon.

Since we are discussing last years defensive stats and applying those to this year... Alabama was 82nd among all FBS schools in pass defense last year. Good luck

Is that true? I remember seeing the stats and they weren't good but I don't remember them being 82nd. Link?
