Not my theory, but I believe it's true. This thing is going to reach out to other schools in the southeast.
Reading the account of what happened, it seemed to me they had to have someone working with them at that bookstore.
It's possible that they organized this whole thing themselves, but they seem to be as dumb as a box of rocks.
So I think someone outside recruited them, and whoever that is probably has something similar goin on at other schools.
Just a theory though.

I think most of them will plead down the charges to misdemeanors. But you're right, if they're charged with felonies, then Mac needs to let them go. It would be a horrible example to set if he isn't firm.
You just have to think, if regular students were charged with basically defrauding the school, they would have been booted a long time ago. Schools don't give much due process to students, and just getting charged with a felony like that could come with an expulsion from the university.

UGA players committed somewhat similar offenses several years ago when they had players trying to basically deposit their stipend checks twice. Alabama players had the bookstore issue years back that earned them probation.

A team vote is out of the question...they don't have enough players left for a quorum.

Even if they plea them down, I don't want them on the team. Period. I'm so sick of having mass exodus games like Michigan where we're missing a bunch of players and suffer from it.
Lay the hammer down, throw them into the wilderness and let them be a problem to some other program.

If Florida dismisses them we all know where they're headed.

I think UF has changed their policy slightly since I was in school, but I knew a few people with DUIs that were in my classes that had to serve a one-year suspension from class for a first offense. Not sure if that's common place or not. But hell, if a football player got a DUI, they got to stay.

Don't start a thread then that you're updating and fail to update it. Pretty simple really.

I had already updated it three times in the past hour. You really are a count, aren't you?

I'll check periodically to see when the affidavit is available to view. Supposedly used their student IDs to purchase items at the bookstore (and subsequently said they lost their IDs and it wasn't them who purchased the items), so they would put money back on their account and they would sell the items they obtained.
I assume they brought in other students into it as well.

Callaway is an all-SEC caliber WR. Scarlett was our best RB. Davis was a regular contributor on the OL. The rest are freshmen

We could use the two freshmen linebackers. I can live without Callaway and Scarlett since we have other playmakers... but we really lack depth at linebacker now.
