Should a two loss team that beats undefeated team really better than them?
Rather than a one-loss team beating an undefeated team, then they both have one loss and you'd have a head to head winner.

You don't watch much NFL, MLB, NCAAB, or NBA do you?

The frick did I just read?

That thought warrants a happy meal.

Are you really saying that a 2 loss team couldn't win the national championship in a 8 team playoff? You're right, they can't win if they don't get in. They need to make it an 8 team playoff.

Do you even sentence, you idiot?

Yep, nobody wants to watch Bama square off against Whiskey who just lost their third game. People are dumb I tell ya.

No more teams. Moving to 4 already is making the CC games irrelevant. Moving to 8 would have Penn St, Michigan, and OSU playing each other again this year. Why the frick do you want that? Do you want Bama to play Florida again in 08' and 09' after our CC?
What all of you fail to realize is that the uniqueness and passion of the college football experience comes from the idea that EACH GAME MATTERS. Going to 8 games will ruin this sport. You guys need to go be NFL fans where practically no regular season game matters and where there are no rivalries that come even close to CFB's. Do you really want that shite here? 4 is enough.
And frick Penn State. They should have not lost to Pittsburgh or get blown out by Michigan. And frick Michigan. They shouldn't have lost to Iowa. fricking Iowa? Really? The 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th team have no argument in my opinion and NEVER will. We are trying to identify the best team not reward CC's or others that had a good season. That's what the bowls are for.

Let me guess you didn't want Bama to play LSU again in 2011 did you?
I think one day we'll see a 16 team playoff with the Power 5 conf champs getting an automatic birth. I mean that my friend would be good television. Cut out a meaningless non conference game from all teams and make it happen.

It will go to 24 with the top 8 teams getting byes. I don't know why people act like the regular season is some sacred cow.
For all those who think the reg season will be diminished, you didn't watch the early season matchup in hoops between UCLA and Kentucky. That was an intense game.

Going to 8 teams will make the CC games matter much more so than they do now. Each conference champion gets in and 3 at large teams get in. Its pretty simple.

Exactly. 5 power conferences (plus others) with only 4 playoff spots is what's making the CC irrelevant because they can't use it as the deciding factor.
If the criteria for getting in is winning your conference then that maximizes the importance of winning your division and CCG. And it minimizes the playoff committee. Their only role would be determining the at-large teams and seeding.
Which is why it will never happen. Why let the games decide who gets in when we can have committee decide for us behind closed doors?

I think that's what makes it fun.

Forget 4, forget 8. Hell, forget 16. Do things like FCS, D2, and D3. 24 teams, top 8 are seeded and get bye weeks. Drop the regular season back to 11 games, by eliminating the cupcake week. Top team in conference gets an automatic berth, while the other teams are selected at large.
