Some of our season ticket holders aren't happy with some of the neutral site locations but that's Cal's way of "expanding the brand" and it's shown to be beneficial come tournament time and they're playing in huge arse domes/arenas.

Mizzou wont be very good either this year they lost a TON of players.

We did lose some players. But I expect them to be a better team this year. There's plenty of talent and scoring there. And we won't lose but 1 or 2 home games max. Should be in the mix in the conference and another NCAA bid.

Mizzou had plenty of talent and scoring last year. This year you're likely going to start a freshman point guard and an unproven JUCO center. Don't you think there will be growing pains?

I was gonna say they probably miss Pressey more than they think they will. I know some Mizzou fans weren't happy with his ball security but on the flip side his aggressiveness opened things up on the court too.

Pressey had his flaws but was still one of the best point guards in the conference and demanded a lot of defensive attention. I agree; he'll be missed.

We did have plenty of talent last year. I just think there was no chemistry. My personal assessment was that Keion Bell and Phil Pressey hated each other. Pressey personally choked away at least 4 games though one might argue that we're not even in those game without him.

I am not sure we start a freshman PG. But Wes is rated as a pretty good prospect. With him, Clarkson and Ross, JWIII, and Post, I think we will be an interesting team. Throw in freshman banger Jones and a Euro style forward in Jankovic and we could be really interesting.

I think that we'll really get a sense of whether or not Haith can develop players.

At least he wasn't an utter headcase like Harrow was for us. Despite our issues last season, I was still presently surprised how Polson played at the point. He's no game changer but for a former walk-on he did alright.

It'll be interesting to see the Harrison twins between PG and SG. I always loved watching twins (i.e. Lopez twins at Stanford) play together just because of that uncanny connection.

At least to start, I'd bet Clarkson starts at the point. IF IF IF one of the freshman PG's prove themselves in OOC games, they will see time in conference play as well.

Is Polson going to be the backup PG this season? I don't know much about Hawkins.

Our PG situation will be interesting this year. I think Wilbekin would've held Hill off this season for the starting job had he not gotten suspended, but he gave Hill a huge opportunity to take, and keep, his spot. Both will get plenty of court time either way, but it should be a good competition.

Just from what I've heard, Harrison will probably start at point with Polson backing him up. It's crazy to think the kid has practiced again Wall, Knight, Teague, and now Harrison.

Hawkins is interesting. He earned every bit of that offer with an insanely good performance in the state tournament that beat the favorite, Louisville Ballard. He's a physical player and plays some good D. Of course Cal is so fluid with his positions he could probably shift him to the 2 if need be.

He's been talking a lot in his practice recaps that he could run with a couple different lineups.

Stopping by to say that A&M will probably be worse than last year. Not only was Elston Turner our leading scorer and team leader, he was also the only guy who didn't seem to need an offensive system to put up points (and since our system is dismal and generates good looks on... probably 20-25% of our possessions, that's bad).

There's a decent shot we're going to be record-setting bad on offense this year.

LSU has a ton of talent, but we've seen extremely talented teams over the past few seasons have less success than what I'm predicting for LSU.

I understand the point, but LSU wasn't bad last year (overachieved in most eyes) and we only had one legitimate post player. Just to have the ability for very talented players to give JOB some rest will be invaluable.

We'll know more once we see how well the team is playing together in the first few games. They'll be in one good early tournament too.

we also screwed ourselves on scheduling last year by not having as many games as we could.

had we picked up two gimme wins we make the nit but no joe can't even do something easy like scheduling correctly

im looking forward to our first year in a very long time with a all sec team instead of some junk from country day because we wanted four year players
