I was kind of surprised at that, considering how popular basketball is in Kentucky, and, uh....how little emphasis....UK puts on football.

Seems like one of the most meaningless stats of all time

High school conferences run the gambit from almost D1 college level to no one is going to play intramural football in college

I guess that is cool tho

Male was one of the first high schools in the city of Louisville. Unfortunately both them and St. X have produced a lot of UofL products. Chris Redman's Dad was HC at Male for a long, long time.

I don't think it's all that "meaningless". I see a lot of high schools on that list that are renown for being great programs and producing a lot of college football players. Pretty sure that Male HS, in Louisville, is one of them.

Secondly, a lot of the best high school programs often play top ranked out of region or even out of state teams.

Team talent, not necessarily individual talent.

Ya. The Louisville schools' prospects are Louisville players.

Their coaching staffs pretty much loathe us.

We're not half bad on the gridiron atm.

Not world beaters, but not half bad either.

Highlands produces some good players. Drew "Bad Boy" Barker, our current laid-up QB is from Highlands.

I think Barker went to Conner.

Towles was from Ft. Thomas-Highlands, as was the Hefty Lefty.

That list doesn't prove you produce great players. I live 20 miles from Mayfield (KY), #6 on that list. Yeah they win a lot of games and have won many small school state championships, but there have been very few (if any) division 1 players from that school. For the most part, high school football in Kentucky is some of the worst in the country.

I was talking about the Louisville players, but ya.

A lot of the players from the rest of the state are overrated imo.

Just a complete a lack of competition.

We'll have to see if our new crop of 'croots' fall in the same category.

It's debatable I guess, but our best running back, Shaun Alexander, came from a Kentucky high school. Our current rushing leader, Damien Harris, also came from your state.

Exceptions aren't the rule.

Not saying every player sucks that comes from here.

You had to bring up those 2, didn't you?
