Sort of scanned the site to try and figure out their system but it seems pretty dumb. Columbia, MO is sandwiched between two major MLB markets within driving distance and has all of both teams games on TV. The bars also cater to both teams. On top of that they get visiting SEC baseball and actually field a decent college team every couple of years. This puts them at #125? Dallas #227? So where the hell do the author's think the Rangers play?

From the methodology of the study,

To find the best and worst cities for professional and college baseball fans, WalletHub analyzed 272 of the most populated U.S. cities based on 11 key metrics, which are listed below with their corresponding weights. For our sample, we chose cities with at least one college baseball or Major League Baseball team.

Teams & Performance – Total Weight = 5
Number of MLB & NCAA Division 1 Baseball Teams: Full Weight
Performance Level of Teams (Number of Wins Divided by Total Games Played): Double Weight
Note: Past three seasons’ averages for MLB and NCAA Division 1 baseball teams were used for this calculation.
Number of Championships Won: Full Weight
Note: Includes both MLB & NCAA Division 1 championships
Number of Division Championships Won: Half Weight
Note: Includes both number of division championships MLB team has won and number of conference championships NCAA Division 1 team(s) has won
Franchise Value (Team Estimated Value in $Million): Half Weight
Note: For MLB teams only

Costs & Fan Engagement – Total Weight = 5
Average Ticket Price for an MLB Game & Minimum Season Ticket Price for an NCAA Division 1 Baseball Game: Double Weight
Number of Sports Bars per Capita: Half Weight
Fan Friendliness & Engagement (Number of Twitter Followers Plus Number of Facebook “Likes” per Capita): Full Weight
Stadium Accessibility (Stadium Capacity Divided by City Population): Half Weight
Attendance (Average Home-Fan Attendance Divided by Arena Capacity): Half Weight
Note: For MLB teams only
Viewership Rate (Number of Viewers on National TV per Capita): Half Weight
Note: For MLB teams only

Better move this to the More Sports Board before we're smothered with Missouri fans preaching to us about the futileness of college baseball.

Get used to seeing more Americans sporting baseball fan gear this summer. If 2014’s any indication — Major League Baseball witnessed its seventh biggest attendance of all time this past September — we may see yet another record-breaking baseball season in 2015. Americans can’t seem to get enough of it. Baseball is the second most followed sport in the U.S., claiming more than 52 million of the entire adult population. But baseball’s a much bigger seller beyond the snacks, tees, bats and mitts. There’s an entire segment of baseball’s market betting top dollar on their favorite teams. This past year alone, the public wagered $722 million on the sport. So for all of you baseball fanatics out there, WalletHub crunched the numbers to find the best and worst cities in the U.S. to follow your favorite American pastime, especially if you’re a spectator on a tight budget. To rank the cities, we looked at 11 key metrics such as the performance level of each city’s teams, average ticket and minimum season ticket prices, stadium accessibility and more. Check out the results and methodology as well as commentary from seasoned sports experts below.

I am not sure where you get the NCAA because the article starts off stating MLB and even if it does the MLB factor skews the findings when talking strictly NCAA baseball

Why? Because Auburn is #108 and sux arse in baseball and has absolutely zero tradition to be excited about. Makes sense.

Auburn - Conference Champions
1937, 1958, 1963, 1967, 1976, 1978

So a consistently decent college baseball team this decade plus an hour drive to a popular MLB team means last in the SEC?

Gainesville being the 2nd highest in the SEC and Atlanta being #4 overall make this list a complete joke.
