This link was previously posted and I used it to rank the teams by talent for 2015.

Spent more time than it was worth. Totally objective scoring system was used. Based on best 11 for each offense and defense. Surplus talent did not play a role.

Incoming freshman, JUCO, etc. were not included

Payed no attention to whether a player was injured or not. Assumed player with the best score is a starter even if he is not projected to be a starter.

Offense:
QB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, OT, OT, OG, OG, C

Defense:
4-3
DT, DT, DE, DE, MLB, OLB, OLB, CB, CB, SS, FS
3-4 (Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt)
DT, DE, DE, OLB, OLB, ILB, ILB, CB, CB, SS, FS

CBS' MOST TALENTED OFFENSES

1. LSU (18.3)
2. Texas A&M (16.6)
3. Tennessee (16.4)
4. Ole Miss (14.2)
5. Auburn (14.0)
6. Alabama (13.8)
7. Georgia (13.3)
8. Carolina (12.1)
9. Miss St (10.7)
10. Arkansas (10.4)
11. Kentucky (9.5)
12. Florida (8.2)
13. Vanderbilt (7.5)
14. Missouri (7.3)

CBS' MOST TALENTED DEFENSES

1. Alabama 18.1
2. Georgia 14.4
3. Auburn 14.2
4. LSU 14.0
5. Florida 13.5
6. Carolina 12.7
7. Miss State 11.8
8. Ole Miss 11.7
9. Tennessee 11.3
10. Texas A&M 9.8
11. Arkansas 9.5
12. Vanderbilt 8.4
13. Kentucky 7.2
14. Missouri 6.7

As an LSU fan all this does is make me think we have underachieved, why post this?

Is is possible to underachieve in a season LSU hasn't played yet??

Fournette, Dupre, and Vadal Alexander are all #1 for their position for their year according to CBS.

Dural and Hawkins are rated 4th best

Harris, Pocic, and Dillon are rated 5th best

That's 8 of 11 players ranked within the top 5 for position and year. By far the most talented team according to CBS. Says nothing about productivity.

Yeah, that was surprising to see given Mizzou has gone 7-1 back to back. Kentucky has brought in a few decent recruiting classes lately. Not that surprising Mizzou is lower than Fl, GA, SC, & TN. Pretty surpising that Mizzou is lower than Vandy though.

Didn't help that Matty Mauk is rated the 31st best QB for his class and Berkstresser is rated 32nd. Weak OL. Best WR was rated 32nd.

Only 5 top 20 players for Mizzou: Brothers (4), Culkin (14), Reese (14), Boehm (14), Scherer (15)

McCrary from Vanderbilt was ranked as the 11th best QB for his class and Maxwell Smith from Kentucky was ranked 19th.

Of course.

Mizzou is undoubtedly the most disrespected and overlooked program in the history of college football.

I'm adding Brantley being ranked 21st to my Mizzou disrespect.txt file. He's better right now than Nk, Ashawn, and Chris Jones. Barring serious injury, he'll leave early for the 2016 draft and be taken early.

Its a shame Joker was the HC for most of those guys college career. Especially Max Smith. He had a lot of potential.

Is there any chance of finding this same analysis from prior years measured against the actual results from those years?

Anyone can rank a bunch of stats. But what are the rankings worth?
