Arkansas finished the season 11-2. Their two losses were a 41-17 rout at the hands of LSU and a 38-14 rout at the hands of Alabama. They finished #5 in both polls that year.

The unfortunate down side of Petrino's offensive brilliance. The QB took a ton of hits.

That was a good football team you guys had. You would have waltzed thru the east undefeated.

Definitely showed a flaw in only allowing 2 teams from one conference into bcs games. I think we could've made a real argument that we were the no.3 team in nation that year

was that the season we lost a player? Young man from Little Rock who died one night following a game?

Austin Allen last year might have given him a run for his money

More like the downside of not having a very good line for Petrino's offense. Mallett didn't take near as many hits as Wilson did when Arkansas had a good offensive line and was a good running team.

I would have liked to have seen us play OK State that year. Oklahoma State and Arkansas were very similar teams that year.

That Arkansas team is one of the more overrated ones in recent memory.

It was really bad the next year. 5 SEC teams finished in the top 10 but only 2 got to go BCS bowling.

Overrated compared to what? 2011 was not a very good year for college football. There were two dominant teams that year and that was it. When measured up against some of the other two-loss teams in recent SEC history, yeah, 2011 Arkansas probably doesn't measure up to many of them. But in 2011, they were easily the third best team in the SEC, and one of the five best in the country.

35-28 over Troy
42-38 over 6-6 A&M
29-24 over 2-10 Ole Miss
31-28 over 6-6 Vandy

Meh.

They also had a 44-28 win over #10 South Carolina and a 29-16 win over #10 Kansas State in the Cotton Bowl.

Well that was after they'd lost Lattimore (and lost at home to 7-5 Auburn). The K State game is irrelevant because those types of bowl games don't matter according to your own fanbase.
