THE actual national championship game. No bama fan thought for 2 seconds that texas had a chance.
The bigger deal was realizing that whole probation nightmare was finally over. This wasn't knocking off a great team every now and then and being fooled. It wasn't hoping we could make a bowl or when would we be back to full strength. It was all finally over and we could be Alabama again. Florida was a great, great team that was looking at 14-0. They had zero weaknesses. One of the best teams ever and they had no chance to beat us. We were back and back to stay.

Can't stand you Gumps. But that was a pretty good performance. Florida was elite at the time.

For sure. But good enough to win it all. Certainly didn't expect them to get manhandled.
