Wait a minute... Are you sure about this?
ETA: nvm Just looked it up.. It's just been so long since we've beaten Alabama that it's hard to believe we beat them in back to back seasons

Yeah, Shula's last year and then Saban's first. Everyone was beating Alabama back then. Even UT squeaked out a win in 2006.

That '96 game was part of the reason Stallings resigned at the end of the season. When you lose to Mississippi State at Alabama you are either in a rebuilding year, losing your touch, or just plain suck.

Yep. That's why we fired Shula. The '07 loss was due to rebuilding a team largely devoid of talent.

for the bama fans, this topic made me think of a quesiton I think I recall being on here before. How many times has bama lost 3 games in a row to a team?
I think a UT fan a few months ago said something like they were the only team to beat bama 3 straight years or times or something. Any insight there?

I don't know the exact amount of times Alabama has lost games 3 games in a row, but off the top of my head:
LSU won 5 straight from 03-07
Auburn won 6 straight from 02-07
Tennessee won 7 straight from 95-01
Florida won 4 straight from 93-98
Georgia won 3 straight from 02-07.
Also, OOC teams like Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas. So that Tennessee fan, per usual, was full of shite.
