A truly great game but LSU dominated it in terms of yardage (475-274). Two major factors kept Alabama in the game to the very end:

1. Matt Flynn's 3 interceptions.
2. LSU's incredible 130 yards in penalties.

Coaching was already better at Alabama.

Was a junior in hs and in a truck packed with people on the way to a party listening to that game. We all lost our shite on that sack fumble and almost wrecked lol

Glenn Dorsey

He was one of the last surviving Nick Saban recruits from the 2004 class

I had forgotten this but 17 of LSU's starters in 2007 were part of Nick Saban's '03 and '04 recruiting classes.

Yes but the defense as a whole was very banged up by that game. Never really healthy again until the BCS title game.

Early Doucet was so clutch in his time at LSU. 4th down touchdown against ASU. I think he had another 4th and goal catch in 2006 where he jumped in front of a pass intended for Bowe in the back of the end zone. Anyways. dude was clutch.

That Doucet catch in front of Javy on 4th down that he ran in for a TD was the ballgame, too.

Not gonna lie, that game and the 2005 game ripped my fvckin heart out. And both games were decided with LSU TD's right in front of us in the student section.

Which is why Bama fans saying Nick has done better at Bama then LSU is crazy to me

5 years at LSU netted 2 SEC titles and 1 national title
First 5 years at Bama netted 1 SEC title and 2 national titles

Now lets look at the next 3 years

LSU 2006- Most likely wins the title with Miles without Katrina. Is Saban worth a 2 ranking spot bump?
LSU 2007-Wins the title without Saban
LSU 2008-Wouldnt have had a letdown with Saban

I am not saying he would have done better at LSU, but he wouldnt have done worse. If he stays we are looking at 3 SEC titles and 2 National titles minimum in 8 years. Likely, 4 sec titles and 3 national titles

Truly amazing how good Saban is

If we had lost this game it truly would have been the worst thing to ever happen. You could not lose to Saban in year 1. It would have been worse than 1/9.

When Javy returned that punt I was physically ill. Thank god for Chad Jones forcing that fumble and that Flynn to Doucet pass.

Arenas' punt return was one of the loudest individual plays I've ever heard in a stadium.

I normally give BDS a lot of crap about not being all that loud as I've been many times, but this past game against LSU was really a hostile environment. Les had a very lestastic gameplan but nonetheless I think the stage was entirely too big for our young team (particularly harris). That was a great atmosphere

It's been better the last few years. Couldn't really tell you why, but it feels like it has.

State and Auburn in 2014, LSU in 2015.

Better student section that's why. Group I went with the past two years have made it a point to scream your faces off.
