I remember watching this game live and wishing Alabama were as talented as LSU. That '06 LSU team had the talent and depth to win the national championship that season.

It was a phenomenal mismatch. That LSU team was loaded.

UA's senior (2003) class was one of the sanction classes. Of 16 signees, only ten made it to that season. Only three were starters by the LSU game.

That game got ugly fast. I don't understand how LSU didn't manage to win the west that year.

Jesus, how many of those have y'all had?

Is that all you boys do, make excuses for getting caught cheating?

Les Miles.

Our loss against Florida was ugly. That was an all-around ugly, ugly game. Russell threw 3 or 4 interceptions and I don't believe we rushed for over 100 yards.

The 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998 classes were "sanction classes."

As were the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 classes.

So...nine? If my math is correct.

What the frick is this shite? What excuses did you see for us getting caught cheating? That 2003 class was one of the sanctioned classes from the Albert Means case. It was one of the most severe set of sanctions ever handed down by the NCAA. It fricked our recruiting and depth up for a while. That's not an "excuse for getting caught cheating," that's a fact.

Sorry, you're absolutely right.

I should've said using getting caught cheating as an excuse for losing.

Those are facts, not excuses. I don't think anyone with a half functioning brain would deny that those problems were a direct cause of our slump in the 2000s.

You're either being intentionally obtuse, or you're mentally retarded. Either way, it makes it difficult to have a conversation with you.

Went to this game with my dad. Still remember the crazy reaction the fans got when LaRon Landry laid out Wilson, which was basically the same hit he had on Croyle a year prior.

Such a dark season.

I swear we used to run that same delay zone blitz with laron all four years against bama

The croyle hit in 05 was absurd

Not at all. LSU fans say, "We only lost because of poor officiating" and get called poor sports for it.

Bama fans say, "We only lost because we got caught cheating" and we're supposed to just accept that as fact?

The 2006 LSU - Auburn game was a good example of that. There were at least three TERRIBLE calls by the refs against LSU that cost the game. For some reason, those aren't seen as "facts" like Bama's cheating ways are, it is just some indication that LSU fans cry about the refs too much.

Granted, not everyone gets caught cheating as much as Alabama, so we can't rightly say, "Get over it, it happens to everybody". If my team got caught cheating that much, I'd keep my mouth shut about it and not promote it as some valid excuse, though.

Yep. Les really pulled the rug out from Jimbo in the second half.
