Not sure,

But 2004 USC would have beat the brakes off of Auburn. It's a shame that game never happened.

Idk, probably bama. Their only loss was to a team that before the NCG coudl have made a legit claim to be one of the 10ish best football teams ever.

USC lost to an 8-6 team that went 5-3 in the pac 10.

A 04 match up between Auburn and SC would have been interesting, I've seen a lot of posters here claim auburn was the more talented bunch

Kind of random. Not sure what auburn has to do with this thread.

12 Alabama. I think they had a better offense.

I think the physicality of the Bama run game (the O line + Lacy) would shock USC. I doubt they saw an offensive front with that kind of power. For that matter, most college football teams have never seen a front like that, which Is why I favor them over teams from the 90s and before

Is this the kind of stuff Bama fans sit around and think about in the offseason?

They played the year prior and USC blanked 'em 23-0 in Auburn.

2003 USC. They crushed everybody other than their one hiccup game.

Shame the coaches had to vote the winner of the other game #1.

SC was clearly the best team that year.

04 is a different season though. Bama blanked Ole Miss in 2013 and then we lost to them in '14

As much as I hate to admit it, I think Auburn would have beaten USC... That Auburn team was extremely talented and was SEC battle tested...

Shame the ap went rogue and went agianst the agreed upon arragnement.

Everyon agreed in 98 to abide by the BCS system. Whoever won the BCS CG between 1 and 2 was the national champ. That was LSU. Not USC. The AP was but a part of the BCS whole..no different than the harris poll or colley matrix. Starting in 04 it went from "doesn't count" to "literally means nothing".
