UNC was offering phony classes for athletes to keep them eligible. That is one of the schools that the presient of Clemson ranked lower.

Cmon man...everyone knows that even at the most prestigious universities, athletes get special treatment. UNC just happened to take it further than others and got caught. UNC is a Premier Public University regardless of its athletes.

They aren't reasonable. I said it in one of the recent "rival school hate" threads and I'll say it again. It's not hard to find Clemson supporters who think they are as good on the football field as 'Bama and ND and are as good in the classroom as Ivy League schools. Hell, the school has admitted to changing school policies just to manipulate their rankings on that US News Rankings list that everyone holds in such high esteem.

Clem being better than Alabama and ND many seasons the past 23 years or so. what was Alabama doing prior to Saban. How many coaches did ND have in 8 years, etc.

What I don't get is why fans of one school suck up to these other schools and advertise for them, without getting paid for it. especially if the statements are generalizations and not accurate from a year to year basis. Alabmaa isn't always better than Clemson. I believe we could have beat them last year with Watson at qB.

cLEM beat Oklahoma and Ohio State, two programs Alabam lost to the year before or after.

there is a good chance clem beat ND this year.

don't think so, they lost like 8 years in a row to Auburn, Bowden went 7-2 against SC.

There's no way a reasonable Clemson fan/alumnus expected to make this list.

Clem has a better engineering/architecture reputation than UGA, who just started an engineerin program, being one of the few large public colleges without one. Clem is at least as good as VA Tech and typicall you hear Clemson, Va Tech, NC State talked about as a group of similar colleges. employers aren't going to see a difference in those and others.

are the military schools usually ranked in top 5 like that? Pretty sure I never seen that.

Clemson is def. better than William and Mary. lol Most people dont' even know where that is, I talked to a girl who grew up in Virginia and she did not even know it is a public college. lol Jon Stewart got into William and Mary, it can't be that hard.

that's my point, how can UGA be a better school if they didn't even offer engineering. even Mercer and Citadel has engineering.

says UGA and some other people who didn't attend UGA

only way you could prove one school better than another is look at how graduates of each school compare to each other in terms of salary and employer reputation, and what percentage of a time does a graduate of x university get an interview when he or she applies and what percentage of the time they are offered a job when they apply to a job. this kind of analysis is never done.

I think if a UGA grad were to try to get a job in Oregon, he or she is probably not going to have it as easy as somebody who went to university in Oregon or Wash State or Cali.

UGA doesn't have a medical school either. So, apparently UGA is very strong in everything BUT medical and engineering if it ranks highly in best colleges lists.

That's not what I'm saying. The program I graduated from at UGA is #1 in the country as well. And no, it's not sociology or women's studies.

ok, I doubt employers see a difference b/t uga, Clemson and countless other schools. you buy into the college propaganda too easily. you've been Mad Men-ed. lol

I did enjoy your uga / Athens pics though. used to think every college in SEC looked like Auburn and SC, UGA could probably be admitted to ACC based on campus beauty. lol Campus beauty and academics is all ACC schools care about, we dominate in these arenas and don't apologize for it

No, I don't look too much into these rankings. They're fun to look at, and it's a little comforting knowing my school makes these lists so it's fun to poke fun of fans of schools that don't. Nothing personal.

Clemson made other lists though, and don't see a William and Mary or Navy, etc are better schools. I think John McCain got into Navy, Al Gore, Bush, John Kerrygot into Harvard. these aren't super bright people.

Jesus fricking Christ, a Georgia resume and a Clemson resume go into the same pile. If someone is going to reject one because they aren't Ivy League, they are going to reject both.

If one looks good to them, they are going to consider both.

Both schools would be awesome to go to, you'd learn a hell of a lot in each of them.

Although if you have to compare, REM is probably the tie breaker.

nah it is the B52s that put them over the top lol

I can't see a Harvard degree getting you that far in the southeast. its weight is mostly in new England.

All things equal, quality of education is certainly considered.
