Off season thread.

CFB 24/7's "15 for '15" series continues with a look back through college football history to dig up the best historical uniforms and helmets. Some are still in use today (with various tweaks) but they still find a place here thanks to their link to the past.

15. Pittsburgh's script helmet
14. Oklahoma's mesh jerseys
13. Oregon's colorful fighting Ducks
12. Florida State's iconic spear helmets

11. Ole Miss' uniforms
The skinny: Not much has changed for the Rebels since the days when Archie Manning roamed around Oxford and led the team to victory. The team used to sport a powder blue helmet with a different logo, but switched to the current Ole Miss script on a navy lid to complete an iconic look.

10. Texas' helmet

9. LSU's home white jerseys
The skinny: There was a time when NCAA rules prevented the Tigers from sporting their white jerseys at home, but thankfully for the team those rules were reversed in the early 1990s. LSU has sported the same basic look with their regular uniforms for half a century as they've made Tiger Stadium one of the toughest environments for any opponent.

8. Nebraska's red and white
7. UCLA's powder blues
6. Ohio State's helmet
5. USC's uniforms

4. Alabama's clean look
The skinny: Not much has changed for the Crimson Tide since the days when Bear Bryant roamed the sideline. The uniforms are simple and the numbers on the side of the helmets are quite simply iconic.

3. Michigan's winged-helmet
2. Penn State's classic look
1. Notre Dame's golden domes

Yeah, one of these things is not like the others.

I actually really do like the vintage interlocking UO helmet Oregon has, but they hardly ever wear it.

Otherwise, I like the list a lot. I would have liked for Auburn to get some sort of kudos for their jerseys/helmet combination, but there's only 15 slots

Should replace them with Oregon.
I would personally have Michigan #1, but don't really have any complaints, except for biasedly thinking LSU should be a couple spots higher.

Every other entry describes an aspect of the uniform or a "clean" or "classic" look.

I feel like some of these are on here just because they've been around a long time. UCLA doesn't do much for me. Same with Oklahoma's mesh jerseys (really?) or Pittsburgh's helmet.

I think our helmets have a much better design than they did in the past. The powder blues this last year look WAAAAY better with the script "Ole Miss" than the Colonel Reb that used to be on them.

Didn't Alabama copy Arkansas' look?

That seems to be the lone from Arky fans this off-season. Though I'd never heard that until a couple months ago.

I wish the Rebs would go back to the powder blue helmets. They looked great in them last season.

Pretty good list except Oregon. There's nothing historic about 100+ uniform combos.
