Everyone knows the 12th man was stolen from A&M.

"Why not us," which we heard them say eighteen times tonight, was stolen from SCAR and the HBC ... Spurrier to SCAR, "Why not us?" 11/22/2004

After hearing Spurrier say it, then seeing a Spurrier led team kick his son's arse twice at NC State, Wilson's Daddy starting asking Russell, "why not you Son? If the Gamecocks can do it, so can you."

Of course, when Wilson tried to transfer to SCAR Spurrier told him thanks but no thanks ... so Wilson ended-up at Wisconsin and it's worked-out well for him.

But the HBC should have trademarked, Why not us?

Eta: Boston Red Sox actually used a facsimile of "why not us" in Oct 2004, which is where Spurrier got it from. LINK

Stolen from A&M? Sure. Stolen from the SEC? Nah, they used that before 2012 when none of us cared for the Ags.

And it worked. Was rooting for Manning but oh well. Hopefully the "why not us?" mentality will keep bringing us better fortune as it has RW and the 'Hawks.

You'd think as old as scrooster is he'd realize "Why not us?" has been around awhile.

They fly a eagle before their games too. Guess where they got that from.

Seattle's license to use the term "12th Man" expires in 2016. Seattle has not abided by all the licensing terms so it may get real when the renewal is due.

The 12th man is actually an old soccer credo from England.

A team from the 1800's used it.

Have you trademarked "Why did I start another shitty thread?" yet?

Think how many millions you've been missing out on in royalties...

Damn, that's right. But it's a Seahawk, right? When did they start doing that?

No idea. But we started doing it way before they were even a franchise.

Does anyone see the irony in a Cock fan trying to compare a 90 year old tradition at aTm with an 8 year old quip from their FBC coach?

You seem pretty flustered there big guy. Rooster hasn't been a dick at all in this thread and while you might not agree with the premise of the OP, it doesn't mean he's being a dick. I think you're letting other instances from other threads/times skew your perception of this particular thread. Let him out of your head, it isn't a good way to live.

Meh. He's a crabby old dick.

A spade is a spade, and some other old sayings only he would understand.
