Yea I agree, Aranda and Canada are good coaches.

LSU in nearly every measurable category had a top 5 OL in the country if you want to go by the numbers. You want to call that very good or great, it's up to you. But using rushing metrics alone to judge an OL is asinine.
For instance, UF sacked Etling only once. Guice went for over 100 yards. When an OL is run blocking that much, those are impressive stats.
Your a numbers gazer. Watch the games and look at the stats. If there's one thing a football fan should know, it's that statistics can not be used solely to judge an OL.

Cas, my backup for my assertion of LSU'S Oline would be, per F+
Rush Success Rate: 45th
Power Success Rate: 89th
Stuff Rate : 63rd

Maybe if you read the rant after the Bama game. But literally every other game of the season they were great. Etling was well protected and the RBs, Fournette and Guice, both played well when in- save the Alabama game. The scheming vs the Bama front 7 was abysmal and your defense gets up when they play Fournette, obviously.

Alright, well, ok

You literally asked me for metrics and stats
Didn't know LSU folks were so happy with the line last year. Would have never guessed it. Good to know though I guess. I had them with a shot to win the national title with a merely very good line, so if they are elite I guess that bumps it up a bit.

I don't think you do either. 15-0, everyone else will be lucky to keep it within 2 Tds imo.

I had long conversations about the match ups in the trenches before the game with people here and most people thought LSU had a very solid, but suspect in places, line. Specifically left tackle.
Maybe those few folks were outliers.

I asked for whatever metrics you were using, and you supplied rushing statistics.
I know it's hard to believe, but they have to pass block as well. Stopping the defense from sacking the QB matters.

44th in adjusted sack rate
Again - good, not elite

Sure you do.
Your best player on defense is currently on a leave of absence for God knows what.
You are losing the best RB to ever suit up for your school. Sure you are replacing him with Guice, but who is behind him if he gets hurt? Williams? Your RB depth isn't great.
You lost your best WR, two best DBs and LB from last year's team. Duke Riley is gone too.
Hiring a new OC, despite your wishes, does not mean it will automatically translate to on the field success.
ETA: Hell, just looking at who LSU loses from last year's team and y'all aren't far off from Michigan in that department.

and
"LSU national title contender" cannot both be true. LSU isn't going to the playoff till they beat Bama.

I can't and won't speak for everyone but I'd like to think that was due to matchups.
But again, all of this started because you said LSU is always manhandled by elite defenses. Unless you consider Alabama as the lone elite defense in the SEC, that's incorrect. UF didn't manhandled LSU in any way shape or form, and they finished #5 in total defense.
Red zone is another story from that game.
LINK
And before someone claims total defense is a shite metric, check scoring defense then and find UF.
LSU did everything to win that game except score in the redzone. And the 4th down stuff to win the game wasn't on the OL, it was on Guice as he ran the wrong direction after the snap.

I believed you were defending LSU's placement in the OP list. upon further review I was mistaken. please accept my humble apology.
P.S. your line is mediocre and i refuse to provide any evidence.
