Oops. I take it this is you.

I like the patriotism, though.

Find one other game in which the LSU OL was manhandled and provide statistics.

Manhandled against Alabama, held in check in other games. Agreed.

My overall point is LSU'S offense line has been proclaimed to be the best in football, then the worst post-Alabama, then the best again in the off-season for now the 3rd year in a row.

Why can't they just be "pretty good" until further notice?

Totals for players do matter as some running backs are better than others and are able to read blocks better, find the holes, etc.

The OL wasn't manhandled by anyone other than Alabama and you can't prove otherwise, period.

Good, I'm glad we settled that. Feel free to edit your original post I responded to as it's factually incorrect.

Have a good day

You quite literally said "manhandled". Do you suffer from amnesia?

I agree, only manhandled by Alabama.

I also agree with my general sentiment and response which is they are a good to very good line but not a great one based on their performance vs very good and elite defenses.

They were great against Florida. We just had terrible redzone coaching. That has been fixed as Canada was best in the nation at redzone scoring

Your assessment essentially is that Alabama is the only elite defense in America then. Because LSUs OL has done well vs plenty of other highly ranked defenses with top defenders who went on to he NFL.

Define your metric. Provide examples.

Again, less than 5 YPA is not "great". It's pretty good, but it's not great. It ranks in the middle of the pack.

Alabama was for 6.2 YPA vs Florida, and Alabama did not have a "great" OL.

So YPC is the only measure for an OL. Surely you are not actually this dense.

I just gave you 5 games in which LSU averaged less than 5 YPA.

I also told you against Top 25 teams LSU was 4th in the SEC in YPA, clearly showing they had a much bigger drop off vs good teams than other lines.

LSU had a very good line and great backs, but they were merely good against most good defenses. They racked up prodigious totals against terrible run defenses which made their overall totals very good.

Do you honestly think LSU had a great OL last year? Great? I'm asking, not being sarcastic.

I love these LSU predictions and how often they are wrong

I remember a few Bama posters laughing at the Aranda hire when we predicted our D would be greatly improved. "But we put up a zillion on Aranda last year when he was at Wisc..."

It's one of the best most all encompassing, yes. Outside of F+ power stats it's probably the best. Much better than total yards for sure.

this nitpicking is irrelevant. the problem LSU has is the offensive line and the run game it supports defines the offense. it isnt good enough to win a national title not simply because it isnt a world beater, but because nobody has that anymore. the I is dead. the fullback, is dead. hopefully orgeron knows this. but its stupid to put the team of a first year headcoach in this category of expectation.

I thought it was common belief amongst LSU fans that last year's line was good but not great with some weak spots, but I guess I was wrong.

I don't give two shits about the argument going on between Triple Daves and cas4t, but this dumb.

If those NFL.com writers were worth a frick they would be employed by an actual team instead of covering the game for a website.

Congrats @LSUfootball! Coach O has surrounded himself w/ 2 outstanding coordinators for the foreseeable future. Matt Canada is outstanding!
