we actually moved up 2/3 spots with the win. i figured we might drop win or lose.

I'm guessing there was some sort of tweak made.
I thought the same thing with the Mizzou game and us, but we moved up two spots even though they have a terrible RPI.
Which is good

I just don't understand how Arkansas isn't ranked.

They're ranked in the coaches poll.

It's anti-SEC basketball bias, IYAM

Arkansas is ranked in the coaches poll.
I think the problem is just the perception of the SEC in general.
Arkansas had a quality OOC schedule and won @SMU and beat a Dayton team that is very good. Actually beat Dayton handily. LSU had a good win OOC as well, but I think both are overlooked at this point until the SEC can prove more in the tourney, I suppose.
That is just my theory.

Which is nonsensical because a one game elimination tourney isn't a great way to see how good a team is or isn't

Which is really stupid because many of the so-called great basketball leagues have been mediocre at best over the years in the NCAA Tournament. The old Big East was a disaster in the NCAA Tournament. Never effected them negatively in the national conversation.

I agree, but as I said, that is just my theory.
For example, in the AP poll, 12-7 Oklahoma is still ranked. When the polls came out Monday, they had lost 4 of their last 5 games. So, one win over a 2 1/2 week period. That's crazy to keep them ranked.

Surprised we didn't move down after beating State.

Every time we get ranked, some team goes and beats us. Bad luck I guess.
If we can beat Florida on Saturday I think we'll be ranked for the rest of the year.

It makes no sense whatsoever. I agree though the way the sec is viewed is silly. It's fatigue

The Big12 RPI wise, is viewed as the best league in the nation this year.
Up until last night, Kansas State was 2nd in the league. KState went 7-6 in OOC play.
Could you imagine the shite that would be talked if an SEC football team went 2-2 OOC and then was second in the league?
lol

This is a big game for us. It could put us back into the tournament discussion and give us a nice boost in RPI.
