Memorable quotes from Auburn's Offensive coordinator Tony "my bad" Franklin.
"It's another sign of me not being smart enough"
"I was being a total dumbass. That's what I was".
"I've proven that I'm not very smart".
"I honestly have failed them both. I haven't done as good a job coaching as I should have done".
"Well, they should. Hell, if I was them, I'd boo. I'd boo me. I'd be angry. Everybody's expectations were high. My expectations were high. Hell, if I was a paying fan I'd be pissed. This product has not been good, and it was my product. I don't blame them for being upset. I don't take it personal. When they said how wonderful you were, I didn't take that personal because I knew it wasn't true. I said all along that I wasn't very smart and y'all thought I was joking. Now you know. It's pretty true."

A little to self effacing. But hell at least he is taking full credit and not throwing players under the bus. AU will catch fire in another game or two. I am just glad LSU got past them early.

Dude gave up a nice Head Coaching job at Tubby's request instead of holding out for a better HC'ing job.. I wonder if they'll give it back to him.

This one's funny too.

Sweet baby Jesus, my skull is about to explode.
Remember the big complaint about Borges' offense? One of the knocks was that the playbook was as thick as the Sunday edition of the New York Times...yet, he was able to install that offense his first year (2004) and we were flawless.
Now comes Franklin, the man who apparently shaves with a rusted Lady Bic and has the worst hair I've seen since Donald Trump, with his easy to learn "Tony Franklin System by Tony Franklin". His offense is supposed to be easy. It's simplicity makes it great for everyone--from Jr. High through college--yet we're abysmal.
But it's more than that. It is the playcalling. I trusted Borgy to make the high percentage play, to help us burn the clock, to have us prepared, and TO MANAGE THE GAME. I don't trust Franklin's judgement. The spread CAN work. See Texas, OU, Florida. But Franklin is not a good/decent/fair stategist. He certainly is a poor teacher.
You can buy "THE TONY FRANKLIN SYSTEM" for only $3000.00.
Tubs should've bought "Sweatin' to the Oldies" volume 1 and 2 by Richard Simmons and had the team watch that all Spring and Summer. I guarantee you our offensive production would be about the same. But at least we'd have a better penchant for interior decorating and a new found love for spandex.
Just sayin.
War Eagle, anyway.
