I like him when it is him and Spears on set. I do not think he is that bad, he just likes to generate calls by letting some really dumb stuff get brought up. He used to be awesome writing for the Post Herald.

He's horrible and an embarrassment to the region but the SEC (Alabama) Network loves this goofball and the SEC (Alabama) HQ will do anything to keep their home state Gumps happy.

I enjoy Paul Finebaum but the show is too long. If they cut him to 2 hours it would be just right. Give the other 2 hours to another commentator to create his/her own show, they have plenty to choose from and maybe could use them all in that way.
If he is only on 2 hours he may not say things like he said about LSU today. That was way off base in the pre-season. During the season if they start losing sure but not now.
I don't know how anyone can call the SEC West right now. They all look good at this point and anyone could have a surprise good season. Especially LSU or Texas A&M. Dak Prescott is still at Miss St and you can't underestimate what a good QB can do for a team.

That stuff is almost as bad as the callers. They both just give lame jokes about each other and act like they are best friends. I listened for a couple of days and the whole thing was about Spears fighting Charles.
Literally an hour talking about a fanciful fight between the two.

Tuned in yesterday after I got news that Cooper said Bama didn't take OSU seriously. Got a chuckle from the whole thing.
I was wondering if i should do another thread, but there have been rumblings that Bama didn't prep well enough for that game.
1. Do you buy it?
2. Is it a valid excuse?
I would like to think that all these guys on Bama know all the OSU guys from all-star games in high school and knew they were ultra talented and competitive too. I mean just look at the lineups and there are Army/Semper-Fi/UA All-Americans on both squads. Who knows if that is true but my initial reaction is kids look at recruiting rankings too and know OSU is a top 3 talent team in the country

I think that it started off ok, but now it is to scripted. A lot of the callers that they put on everyday are 100 times worse than he is.

Finebaum is a very good interviewer, when he takes any of his bias out of the process. He jumped on the Saban bandwagon early, and with his Bama SEC Office connections, used it to get the ESPN Network job. He has turned on Saban a little recently, which tells me he is preparing for the transition. If he can hitch his bandwagon to another successful coach, he will survive.

He's been loving him some Tennessee lately. Would make sense to go back to his Undergrad roots a bit i guess

Finebaum is really a genius. He realizes controversy sells and he has become a millionaire simply by stirring shite up. Anybody who gets mad but continues to listen is a fricking moron. Finebum doesn't care if you like him or not. He is fine as long as you continue to listen and he continues to cash that paycheck

Its amusing how many people dislike Paul Finbaum. The guy is spot on and accurate with his information and most of his opinions. He is definitely an Alabama supporter, as they have ruled the roost for some years now.
The one thing I don't like about his show is they let these stupid white trash callers yell in for what they think are entertainment purposes.

I'm a moderate Libertarian, but the way so many people talk about our president is just ignorant, same with our last president. With the unemployement rate down less than 6% for the first time since the late 90s, no major wars going on, it really doesn't get any better than this. If your situation sucks, you're probably lazy and stupid.

The live show from Columbia on Friday was pretty bad by himself like that. He's really bad.
They could easily find better hosts especially for baseball on campus trips.
