"Done Went Blank On Me" is Charlie Strong, who in a recent interview forgot starting QB Tyrone Swoopes' first name. Can't blame him, really.

ETA: Not an interview. During a deposition over taking an Okla. State coach, similar to the unpleasantness between A&M and LSU.

Great thread, as it shows what I have been saying: in Texas $5 million a year is the going rate for a coach.

I expect many LSU fans to upvote this thread, as it proves that they both saved $400,00 and upgraded at DC in the same move.

In other words the A&M staff is way overpaid compared to winning sec titles and national titles.

This sums up the SEC Rant perfectly. Start there and please continue to argue their accomplishments.

A&M OC + DC = 1.975 million (for Chavis and Spav)
Bama OC + DC = 2.03 million (for Smart and Kiffen)
LSU OC + DC = 2.6 million (for Cameron and Steele)

That's a lot of money for a mediocre offense and a coordinator who gave up almost 3/4ths of a hundo in his last game

There are a lot of overpaid coaches on that list.

Cam's and Steele's salary are the most glaring items on the list. Yes, Sumlin is overpaid relative to accomplishments, but he's getting paid because 1) promise and 2) he had big money job offers, and that's what it took to keep him. I have no idea why Cam is getting so much money.
