If we were to build a upper deck like Bjork said we could do I imagine it would make a cluster frick right in there but I doubt anything will ever be as bad as Vandy's football/basketball/baseball stadium all in one spot.
Also I imagine it would depend on the size if we built an upperdeck more the size of Michigan State's or Rutgers it wouldn't be too bad
But if we built something like the size of Auburn it would cause more of a problem

I think it would be something like Rutgers (smaller). As long as the structure overlapped the lower deck and went upward instead of toward the Pavilion, I think it would be fine.

Should be nice. Help keep noise in, too.
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations!!!

I'm not sure how they'd do it unless they tore down the press box and added an upper deck with the press box built into the upper deck, kind of like this old picture of Bryant-Denny Stadium:
That is what we will do.

With not building the final few rows of the North endzone it leaves room to be able to match the top part of the south endzone after it's renovated this year assuming they decided to tear down those 2 buildings that are under the North endzone
What I think will be the second project after the current NEZ expansion. I doubt we will have the ticket demand to handle two upper decks in the near future and do not see us tearing down the East side to just put suites and club seating up. The reason being that we would have to tear down what we built as soon as the deman for a second upper deck is there.
My dream would be to have a structure above the west side that stretches from end zone to end zone and connects to the video boards in the SW and NW corners. Having a structure above the bowl that would stretch from NE corner to SE corner around the west side. That would leave the only gap between our upper bowl structures on either side of the East side rebel club starting at the 20 and going to each end zone in the north and south. Our new video board in the north will need to be replaced regardless of plans by 2025. When we mirror the NEZ with the SEZ, we will have four video boards in the all the corners.
Think how well that stadium would hold in noise.

B) I don't really know how many more spectators evening out the rows in the south endzone would add?
Not as many as you would think if the NEZ mirrors the SEZ exactly. The first seven rows of the SEZ have been removed for suites so if that is done in the NEZ, not many rows will be added. I'd say with all the club seating, suites, and all the rows added, we would net 2500-3k added attendance

It wouldn't surprise me if we did all chair back upper deck. We could build that as big as Auburns and it only add 6k seats. Well actually that would surprise me because that's what I would actually like to happen. You are correct though, we will not build a 9k+ seat upper deck

When did Bjork say anything about adding an upper deck?

Many many times in various interviews. It's the next move. We will tear down the press box and add a super structure with suites, press, club seating and an upper deck

That sounds great! Totally for it. About time, really.
But haven't there been problems or weird legality issues with stadium size limits in the state of Mississippi? I seem to recall something on those grounds in the past.

All expansion projects have to be approved by the IHL.

99% vs Presbyterian is impressive

Well we're fricked. The IHL doesn't want us to get too far ahead of the other schools in state.
Maybe they'll feel bad for the Jones disaster and just let us do what we want.

The positive is that I don't recall them ever vetoing a proposed expansion by us. I'm sure all they do is just make sure we have the proper planning and fundraising so that we don't go bankrupt with borrowing an ungodly amount of money that we can't pay back.

That's pretty standard for public works projects. Technically the true owners of the project are the citizens of MS because we are a public institution and IHL is acting on the behalf of the citizens.
TL:DR It's a formality required by law. I needed to use my RECM knowledge.

Anyone got any renderings of an upper deck on VHS? Any photoshop wizards care to give it a crack?
