Based on your offensive system, what's a good year for your school's skill guys?

Example:

LSU in 2013:

Mett 3K passing
OBJr/Juice Landry 1K+ receiving
Hill 1.4K rushing

I would say that any of these totals are excellent for our offense. But good?

I'd say LSU should be competing for a national title if we get the following totals at the skill spots:

2,500 yards passing
1,200 yards rushing (leading rusher)
1,000 yards receiving (leading receiver)

What about your program? Example:

TAMU benched Kenny Trill when he was leading the SEC in passing. Obviously his stats are skewed in terms of what Sumlin feels is productive enough to help TAMU compete for the Division versus what schools like an Arkansas or LSU would expect out of their passers.

So if your QB had 4500 yards, is that enough to put you in position to win 11 games? Or receiving...do you need at least 2 guys over 1,000? Or three over 700?

Just interested to hear what folks think their programs should produce if they're both productive and putting them in position to win their Division.

Bielema's had 3 1,000 yd rushers in a season a few times. Not sure how many times. more than 3 less than 7....

Pretty much just do what they have since 2008. Off the top of my head, I can remember 2 games since then where the offense didn't score 20+. The D has been what let's Bama down in losses.

He's never had 3 in one season. He came close one time but ended up like 6 yards short of it.

When did this happen? That would be pretty rare. The year Ball was a freshman at Wisconsin they got close, but Ball didn't have quite 1000.

I would like two WRs with more than 9 touchdowns.

hmmmmm....i was thinking after I typed it that "more than 3" sounded high...that's a little embarrasing. lol. now that you said that that's exactly what i remember reading. good thing i have to go somewhere, there could be backlash on that one. lol.

Two 1,000+ yard rushers is most likely what he is shooing for each season. Get the QB numbers around 2,700-3,000 yards and we would have a damn good offense.

I think outscoring our defense would be a solid performance.

2,800 yds passing

2 1,000 yd rushers.

leading WR somewhere around 800 and 7 TDs. with two or 3 more in the 500 range.
we won't make our living through the air but we will need some big plays in the passing game from time to time to keep safeties out of the box.

3000 yards rushing

2800 yards passing

With 5 cupcakes (UTEP, Toledo, UT Martin, LSU, and Ole Miss) on the schedule, we should be able to reach those totals.

Astro Dobbs throws for about 3k, runs for about 700
Hurd and AK combine for 1500-2k rushing yards
We have more of a committee at WR than just a few standouts. Hopefully one or two guys (probably North, Pearson or Howard) gets 800-1k and then we have several more around 500.

That's an incredibly high amount. That's within 200 yards of Mettsiah through 11.85 games two years ago.

In other words, I don't think that's a realistic expectation out of your offense. But I also don't think its necessary for you to challenge for the SEC West.

2,500 yards passing and two 1,000 yard rushers would put you over 5,000 yards of offense which works out to 416+/game. Don't see that being either feasible nor necessary for you to compete.

I think we had 3 1000 yard WRs in 96.
Or not.

We had 5,300 yards last year of total offense so 5,800 yards this year would only be a 38 yard per game improvement which is not crazy when we return almost our whole offense.

not saying it will happen but it is feasible.

No one really knows what a great Hugh Freeze offense looks like, but I'd imagine it would be a 3000+ yard passer, a couple of 700+ yard rushers, and a 1000+ yard receiver.
