Sports have just lost their luster without the Border War. I've resorted by being emotionally invested in Quidditch and Lacrosse, since they still play the beakers. I don't even know the rules or care about either of those two events. I want basketball and football back.

Honestly I've already acclimated to the SEC mindset. Unfortunately for kansas I just don't care about them anymore.

If one day they announce the border war is back on, I'll certainly be somewhat excited.

But it truly doesn't matter to me anymore. I've 100 percent bought-in to the SEC.

Don't care about kansas. I actually think this is healthy because as mentioned in the OP we were never going to expand ourselves with so many fans that care more about kansas than Mizzou.

Maybe as we get further away from that mindset it would be in our best interest to renew the series, but now it's not. Let's focus on Mizzou.

Count me in the group that doesn't even think about kU unless they're brought up. Frankly I say frick them. Self wants to be a douche and say they have nothing to gain by playing Mizzou?!?!? Well, someone needs to let him know that football rules the day and we stand nothing to gain by playing them. So to hell with them. I'd rather play the Nubs in football, or Iowa, or Iowa State or even OU. We stand to gain more from playing them.

Not trying to spark it, but both of those opinions are from St. Louis people. kansas never meant as much to you all.

Sports at Mizzou is not as good as it was with a kansas game on the schedule.

Hate doesn't die that easily.

True statement. Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't mind it back. I wouldn't go out of my way or beg to get it back.

I would like to continue to play kansas (as well as other former Big8 schools) But if we scheduled either a football or a basketball game with kansas the outcome would be extremely lopsided right now.

We are as pathetic in basketball as they are in football.

I'm from STL and miss it big time, but I'm also a much bigger hoops fan than Bball. Love some football, but never played. I agree with Reedus though someone needs to tell Self that pigskin rules the land.

That would be incorrect. Kansas sucks. We know that on the East side of the state

I'm not so sure. A&M and Texas have both gone through personnel changes that might not effect them as much.

I'm afraid Bill Self is the ultimate decider as to when MU-kU will play again.

Kansas wants no part in scheduling Mizzou, but look at it from their point of view. They have to be overly loyal to the Big 12, it's their only shot at staying in a power 5 conference. They need that conference to stay relevant and viable or Conference USA awaits. So they need to be the leader when it comes to hating Mizzou for the SEC move. the other former Big 8 schools don't hate Mizzou for leaving, because if the Big 12 dissolved, most have viable football programs and will be snatched up by other power 5 conferences. As someone pointed out, football rules, and who the hell is scooping up KU if the Big 12 went away?

So I pity them and their situation. It's like standing up for your fat, disgusting spouse because you know you can't do any better.

Somewhat related...from Mike Alden today... "You're talking about 100 years and not just athletic history. You're talking about US History"

Do not want. kU can stay an afterthought. I literally almost don't think of them at all anymore, and I love it. Hope we never play those scumbags again.

I think Texas is dictating to them what they can and can not do.

That conference is tenuous at best. As is ku's position in a power 5 conference.
