Apparently for climbing a crane on campus? Comments Gators?

ETA: This seems ridiculous that they could be facing 5 years in prison considering some of the other stuff going on in college sports these days.

Climbed a crane!!!???

tPOS.

Kids have no idea of the consequences of their actions these days. They need to be expelled and serve federal time. We can't abide crane-climbing in this country.

Seems to me like telling them to get down should have been more than sufficient.

Good call. Notice this never occurred while he was here. He leaves, baseball pitchers go crazy on cranes.

Boom is really seeking revenge for UF paying him way too much money to suck.

No kidding. When I was 8 years old in the public pool and the lifeguard yelled at me to "Get off the rope!" I had no idea I was headed toward a life of crime.

Charges will be dropped or reduced to mischief as they should be.

I'm sure whomever fixed Tony Joiner's issues will take care of this one (assuming that the Gainsville PD is still on the payroll like they were under Urban and that the baseball team is given the same courtesies). So let's see, Tony Joiner, a serial killer, a guy with migraines who choked an assistant coach, a few wife beaters, and then your run of the mill thefts and assaults.

You've got to think karma will put them in the desert a least a few more seasons.

Felony?

That word is so diluted down now.

Thanks for standing up and making your voice heard. It's a shame there aren't more people willing to compare misuse of construction equipment to violent crime. Maybe if more people thought like you, we could put an end to this madness.

Yes, Florida. The state where you can stalk, start a fight with, and kill a kid then get off by claiming self defense but if you climb a crane.... FELONY!!!

No comparison was made. More a commentary on how the Gainsville PD doesn't do shite to Flordia athletes. So people thinking that he will receive any type of penalty for this are mistaken.

Further, some of you people don't understand why messing with cranes matters. Most of you are young and that is why. Cranes kill about 75 people a year with people who know how to operate them messing with them. The crime is harsh because they can kill and cause a lot of property damage.

Crane abuse.

It's serious. And it's REAL.

Climb a crane, go to jail. Because one day we ALL want to live in a world free from crane climbing. It matters to ALL of us.
