I'm just happy to be headed in the direction we are headed.

Johnson was in to see Reese, Wiley, and Johnson today. I also think he saw Langford and Petty.

I don't think he's been appointed a savior. But it's a step forward. Anyone who think Avery will have a major impact on this year's class is going themselves. But it's going to be interesting to see what he'll do for next year's and 17.

For that matter, any interview with any top kid right now, still has me skeptical. It won't be until elite players start visiting that I'm certain that Avery can walk the walk on the trail.

I really like the Reese kid. He isn't getting much hype but when you look at his film you can tell he can hoop.

You think any of them are visiting for ADay? It'd be nice to get a lot of these 2016 and 2017 kids back on campus.

Cecil posted this:

The 6-10 transfer from Kennesaw State is tentatively scheduled to visit Alabama on Thursday. Attracting some pretty strong interest from Georgia, Arkansas and others.

Though he brings limited offensive skills, it'd be great to have a guy that was defensive player of the year in the ASun. That's a lot of length with him, Taylor, and Hall around the basket.

Just an obligatory F U to Gregg Marshall for swooping in and offering Dazon Ingram at the last minute, trying to steal Alabama's Mr. Basketball. As if you haven't done enough for us already, you sleazy SOB. Why don't you go play in traffic, you sorry POS!

A poster on tidesports posted this from AJ at the luncheon today

quote:

Just said we are currently in talks with a JUCO player that can play the 4 and 5 for this year. He also just said that there are recruits in 2016 that wouldn't take their phone call from Grant and now are calling him wanting to set up recruiting visits. Someone asked about coaching against his son and he said "We can alleviate that problem if he transfers. All I can say is, Stay Tuned." Finally, he said that we are Im talks with a 5th year grad student who has one year left

I had this sneaking suspicion that he had some things up his sleeve when a few guys "processed" themselves due to future limited PT

This article says we are recruiting juco PF Ray Kasongo. He's on a visit to Mississippi State this weekend: LINK

quote:

Four SEC schools are leading the pack in contention for Kasongo: LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama. UNLV is also in the mix.

I would have figured one of our sites would have mentioned him if we were a serious candidate though. With 100% in the crystal ball to MSU, you'd think he'd commit at some point today.

Saw this on tidesports. Alabama to visit

quote:

...6-foot-8 four-star small forward Jonathan Isaac at IMG Academy on Monday. He wasn't sure which coach was coming to see him from Alabama, saying via text "I think it's a new assistant".

That would be the first battle between Johnson and Pearl. I think Harris is basically down to Auburn and UCONN
