Mizzou hoops loses another player

First, their leading scorer and rebounder left.
This one doesn't hurt as much. Deuce Bello will graduate and transfer. I think he was a top 50 player out of high school, went to Baylor and didn't play, transferred to Mizzou and didn't play and will try again elsewhere.
Hoping that's the end of the defections, but still concerned there might be 1 or 2 more. As far as I know, 1 kid has confirmed he's coming back. There's a couple of others that I don't think ever flirted with leaving.

This is probably for the best. We need serviceable players and Deuce wasn't it. Shooting guards who can't shoot are not hot commodities.

Mizzou goes to DII for a coach, that coach takes them to DII.

Deuce Bello
I was going to say, he's about the equivalent of an NBA journeyman at this point. I'm assuming he'll have to transfer to a lower division at this point.
Rather the scholarship be open for someone else at this point IMO.

He was billed as a defender and couldn't do that either. No loss losing him. It's becoming a numbers game in the meantime, especially if we lose anyone else.

How is Kim's relationship with his players? Is this just standard turnover or something else?

He's not a "player's coach" by any stretch of the imagination. We'll see if it works out.

Is it possible MIZZOU will be even worse than they were this year? How's the recruiting class looking?

It will be difficult to be worse than the worst P5 team from last year. We could be as bad. We're currently scrounging up players from JUCOs and we have some 300 ranked in-state kids coming in (read: little immediate help).

Kid has great athleticism, but I'd be surprised to see him land at a big program. That being said, there are a few guys like Ryan Harrow and Eric McClellan that have been at 3 different schools recently (all decent programs). Maybe Bello could do the same, but his production hasn't been as good as the other two guys.

It's something else. He suspended 9 of 12 guys this last year. Trying to re-establish a new personality in the locker room. Of all things, the first guy that left was 1 of 3 that weren't suspended. Add to it setting all time records in futility for Mizzou hoops and that's what you get. Anderson belittled the players for how they slouch or their pronunciation. I'm sure that didn't sit well with some egos.

It depends on who you talk to. KA supporters will tell you the kids we have are the next Kaminsky, Anderson type players. Others will tell you these guys couldn't make a CYC team. The reality is somewhere in the middle I'm sure. They're probably better suited for mid major schools but might be able to be factors by their junior or senior year if they stick around.
Will we be worse? Probably not. Unless we have more defections. There's 1 or 2 guys who I'm holding my breath over. If they leave, we may struggle to win 5 all year. Right now, we'll do good to get to 10-12 wins, a slight improvement over the 8 wins from last year (I don't count the win over a D2 school).
