Avery Johnson is the best hire this year and likely best since Calipari signed with UK.
Answer this:
- Is your coach highly respected by everyone?
- Does your coach have Major NBA connects?
- Is your coach on a video game?
- Is your coach # retired?
- Did your coach hit the biggest shot to win an NBA title.
- is your coach a successful motivational speaker?
- Did your coach reach 150 wins faster than anyone in NBA history?
if you were a HS player and you were thinking NBA and you had Johnson, Howland, Barnes, Pearle or Marshall, for that matter coming to see you. .. who would you be more excited about?

You fail to mention Avery Johnson is a weird little dude. He's really likable, but I don't think everyone is going to be drawn to him.

I think Bama knew they had to make a splash hire with the increasing number of top ball prospects in the state over the next few years. Once Marshall passed they kind of panicked but ended up with a high risk/ high reward hire.

Every hire is a risk... even Calipari... you can't tell me UK fans aren't scared a negative story will drop at any minute everyday lol.
