I wonder if we will look into any former players.

Johnnie Parker?

I appreciate opening day/night...but I find it really hard to focus on individual games with a 162 game season. I'll follow my Royals. I'll go to my usual 20 games at the K. But lets calm down...still 161 to go...before the playoffs.

You need to venture over to the Jason Heyward thread on the MSB right now....

Last I heard, they hadn't even published the opening, which has to be done and left open for at least 7 days. Have they done that yet? If not, why don't they do that so that the 7 day clock is already running/runs out? They can't even announce or hire anyone until then. Makes no sense.

Pretty much every coach in the country goes to the final 4.
I would expect Anderson to talk to a lot of coaches while there, probably start hearing some possibilities later this week.

Couple other things to consider.
While Mizzou is down an assistant I think Tibaldi can recruit.
Helps with staying in touch with current targets.
Also, a yet to be named coach can recruit without restrictions if he's not on a staff at the moment.

I'd expect to hear something within the next week or so. Probably after NSD.

KA has a press conference scheduled for 1:30pm on Wednesday, hopefully we'll hear something then, but I agree, this is dragging on too long, especially right at the end of the recruiting cycle. Loos doesn't bring much to the table from what I can see, all he could manage to bring in was CVL and Puryear, hopefully we can find someone who's better than him, we don't have an ace recruiter on the staff at the moment.

I doubt it's an announcement of an assistant. He can't. Unless they published the opening and I didn't see it. Yes, I'm submitting my application.

It's tough to get a top notch assistant to join a team when the head coach's longevity is in serious question. Why join a sinking ship unless you are also desperate?

I am worried that is the problem. He is probably going to have a tough time getting a decent assistant. We may have to go the alum route but there aren't many real good candidates if we go that route either.

After hearing/listening to several interviews with national recruiting analyst it's clear that Anderson is respected nationally among coaches.

I can never tell if they respect him or feel sorry for him. Probably respect.

That's a little naive.

Posted a link in the recruiting thread of an interview with Jerry Meyer. He was asked about how Mizzou and Anderson are perceived nationally.

I listened to that. My opinion was that was an underwhelming endorsement. There's never really any time that coaches, announcers or recruiters come out and attack a coach for performance.
