On some level, the admiral know who coach Avery is

Anybody else think AJ is being non committal about his son staying at A&M? It sounds like it's a possibility that he could transfer. JMO.

Yeah it is starting to sound more and more like he is.

You'd have to think it'd be a dream of his to play on his dads team. I'm sure he loves Texas A&M and they've obviously got some great players coming in.. But you gotta think the desire to play for his dad far outweighs anything going on at A&M.

Not necessarily. He grew up being taught by his dad, so to be on his own at A&M may be what he prefers. Still, AJ hasn't really ever answered the question with a definitive no.

I thought the same thing about the situation. But Avery might be waiting to see if his son brings it up, rather than pressuring him. And probably understand that his son might want some new coaching. But, he's also been there a year, and knows which system he'd prefer. So there's no need for a definitive answer right now.

Did he though? CAJ was in the NBA till the kid was 8, then he went straight into coaching. He probably never coached his kids basketball team. His son may have been around during his NBA or coaching years and probably always dreamed of being on his team in the NBA.
Edit: Not saying you're wrong. Just seems like he may have thought the only way he'd ever play for his dad was to make it to the NBA..

No offense to his kid, but I'm not sure I even want him here. I don't think he had a star rating out of HS and he wasn't exactly killing it at A&M last year. I would like to avoid nepotism if we could.

He was a three star. We may need him just for depth since we lost Tarrant and may lose Coleman.

Is there a date when he can or cant transfer. Not sure I want him saying he is coming any time soon. Don't know how J Cole or Ingram would take it.

he would have to sit out a year

If his son did come here to play, wouldn't that free up a scholly? His son would get a free ride since AJ is the coach.
Sorry if that is a dumb question.
