I am so thankful that many really good AU people (you are certainly not among them) didn't share your same views of Tuscaloosa when they graciously volunteered their time, energy, and resources to help after the tornado in 2011.
At some point, you have to be an adult and realize there is far more to life than flaming your rival over every little thing and every possible opportunity. Then again, that requires a level of mental and social maturity that some (this is the group you are in) have shown they'll never reach.

tell me this... Who takes this more serious, the guy who is obviously just flaming a thread or the guy who gets mad over it... Stuff on this board doesn't matter at all... So if I wanna take a shot at an Alabama fan to get him worked up I'll do it... Maybe this website is a little too much for you to handle...

I would think at this point, you have to overpay to get quality. Who cares how much UA pays to get him? If he resurrects your BB program, it's money well spent. AU did the same to get Bruce Pearl, (thank you, baby Jesus!). The two programs were mired in mediocrity and apathy. Get the big name coach and drive the interest in BB in this state.
I salute UA for throwing the bank at Marshall. Make him say no. At least you tried everything you could to get the best available coach.

To be fair, no big time programs were going to hire Pearl with his baggage. One frick up by him and AU is on probation for years, same with Miss State

We have to pay up to get the program over the hump. I would argue the cost of fricking up this hire is greater than overpaying Marshall.

You have had an account for four years, and have less than 900 post. Why did you pick this week to start being so awesome?

Auburn had to roll the dice to get someone of his talent. AU has not been very receptive to BB. (Due to it mired in mediocrity from terrible teams and ill-suited coaches.). With the way Pearl can sell a program, recruit, and coach, it was a good call for us.

Wichita State basketball coach Gregg Marshall has a tentatively planned family trip to Tuscaloosa on Friday to check out Alabama, sources told Yahoo Sports.
But Wichita State administrators and boosters are actively fundraising in an attempt to forestall Marshall's trip and keep him as the coach of the Shockers, sources said.
