With Nick Saban losing control of the football program and a complete transformation of the UA Board of Trustees once #freeuab, Bill Battle may be around in Tuscaloosa much longer than he planned.

That being said, he has completely mangled the basketball hire from start to finish. He let Bruce Pearl's success force him into making a decision about Grant he wasn't equipped to handle and is now floundering in the face of Marshall's hesitancy to take the job.

Bama fans should hope Gus doesn't make Saban's arse quit before a new AD is in place or the era of the Mike3 will seem like a fond memory

we can only hope Saban retires from stress of all his players getting arrested. That's best case scenario assuming they go get Dabo.

Isn't this jumping the gun a little?

I mean, Bama is on the fricking tee right now. The way this search has gone its either Marshall or bustbarrassment. Shouldn't we at least wait and make sure they don't hit a hole-in-one before we make fun?

What would it take for Bama to cut ties with HCNS?? I would think a couple of 7-5 or 8-4 records in a row would be more damaging to HCNS than a few arrest.

Because yall tried to float this narrative that yall are a top 15 program nationally and therefore a top 15 job.

I am a TAMU fan, I am the first to throw the value of basketball under the bus. I am just talking about the Rant narrative, and for some reason this football offseason yall are stealing the show.

Am I the only one that assumes that Auburn fans spend 80% of thier communication with visiting fans talking about Alabama

He would have to run a bus full of nuns off the road while drunk, holding a joint, with a porn star in the car who was snorting cocaine.

We might have to have a talk with him then...

Until then its championships or bust for us.

This didn't happen.

I remember someone linking a Forbes article stating that Alabama was valued as the 14th most valuable basketball program, that's it. If you can't understand that that is not the same thing as claiming Bama is a top 15 program, then you probably aren't worth discussing this with.

yeah, a few Gumps floated the Forbes article saying we were 14th most valuable, but that's obviously not where we are as a program. Our basketball program has done very much on 20 years. We had a few good years from Gottfried, but very little success overall during my lifetime. I'm too young to remember three Wimp teams, but some of the nba players from his era.

With the SEC network, and the money and exposure that coming with it, I think our athletic department wants to become a consistent winner. And at least so far, we're putting our money where our mouth is. Even if Marshall says no, I'm sure other coaches have to be taking notice that we're ready to give out a ton of cash, and give them the keys to the program. Battle is making it clear he won't be micromanaging, like Texas.
