Bringing back the freshmen football and the junior varsity probably wouldn't hurt them any.
The student would benefit and so would the schools overall.
The absolute best thing it would do would be kill the abomination that recruiting has morphed into and seeing rivals/24/7 dry up and blow away wouldn't hurt my feelings in the slightest.

I think if they do well and hold their grades they should get another year of eligibility.

I'm on board with this suggestion because it would destroy college basketball.
