That's funny i actually thought rabble-rabble was female the first time i encountered him on here as well. I asked if he was a woman or beta-male but he would never answer. It took me a month to figure out he was male.

Haha! With "tribal" barbed war? No. My last name is Irish. Meaning my father's father's father's... father was. But I'm not into the Celtic thing. I do like to listen to people speak Gaelic, though. Total caveman language, but a good one.

I think Christians want to win the intellectual debate just as much, so I don't really think that's the general rule most of the time.

Dude, we're trying to claim that a virgin gave birth and a guy was raised from the dead. It's entirely faith based. We are not trying to win the intellectual debate, because we would lose every time.

atheism and islam are far more alike and have more in common...

What?!? Atheism and Islam have absolutely nothing in common. Atheism is the lack of a belief in any gods with no religious texts, Islam is a belief in one specific God with religious texts.

There is absolutely nothing that connects the two.

I mean I'm not talking about proving or disproving the fairy tales. There are many more justifications that people use. It's only human nature to want to make the right decision, even if you have to suspend disbelief for some areas. Tell me, why do you think your relationship with Jesus is the right one?

i know it's a bit dated and i hope you take the comments on the other thread as just message board chit talking. not an indication against you. i like you. i just like giving you hell like i do TBird or anybody else. i say that, just because i don't want joking around on the sex thread to translate to the following.

Real talk: Why i think that a relationship with Jesus is the right one is that after extensively studying other religions (and i mean objectively in a here's what their websites say, their wikipedia says and their holy books say) I find that Jesus is the only one that is a guaranteed salvation, regardless of how things turn out for you on earth. In Islam, it is completely dependent on your works here on earth and if you ask most Muslims, they don't know where they lie on the scales of Allah. they can say that they know they are headed to paradise and going to get virgins, but if you ask them where they end up on that scale, they don't know the answer and are hoping for the best. Scientology is the same way. They know they've bought up to a certain point and been audited to a degree that obtains a better afterlife, but it's not set in stone. LDS is the same way, you can have a good afterlife as a lousy Mormon, but a devout Mormon is promised a larger planet with better glory. In Buddhism there is a strive for nirvana and perfection through that, that the religion itself says can't be truly reached.

None of that is true with Jesus Christ. I can not work in such a way to obtain a better salvation than a rapist who has a sincere conversion on death row. Jesus' power to save me, living a mostly moral life according to the Bible, is the exact same as what it takes the rapist who denied Christ for 99% of his. I can't work to obtain it an neither can he. I don't work to get a better heaven than him and Christ doesn't view him in heaven as any lesser of a child than myself. So my answer is that why Jesus, is because it is the only way of salvation that you can be guaranteed, regardless of this life on earth, but trusting in his work on Cross is enough.

i really never try to be preachy on here, but you asked and i felt it required a sincere answer. i apologize to every one of you for that.
