If you want Chavis to field a solid defense you're going to have to surrender your prolific offense.

Chavis had great defenses during the '95-'98 seasons when Tennessee actually had good offenses. Tennessee went 45-5 during that stretch.

Still waiting on that money from when LSU pulled the most chicken shite move in the history of college football and backed out of the contract because we were beating you thoroughly.

This is a demonstrable myth.

Pairing up with an offense that dominated time of possession tilted the odds in favor of Chavis looking good, but he often excelled in making mid-game adjustments.

Just don't ask him to defend a 7 point lead in the final two minutes.

I'm not reading this whole thread but I'd like to remind everyone of two things:

#1 Texas A&M hasn't beaten LSU in 20 years.

#2 Aggies are the only ones who brag about beating LSU in the 90's. We owned you before that and we've owned you since.

If we can start winning conference championships then we'll add Louisiana to the map. And THIS is what scares y'all the most.

I'm not looking to get mixed into an LSU battle of verbal fisticuffs, but y'all continue to post that stat, as if A&M and LSU have faced-off annually for the past 20 years.
I don't get it.
Absolutely, y'all've won the recent games--crow away.
But the "A&M hasn't beaten LSU in 20 years" is as relevant as saying "LSU hasn't beaten Rice in 20 years."

You do know we don't play each other every day?

Our series record is 5-5 over the past 10 games.

Yep.
The ceasefire was nice while it lasted.
Good effort though, TBird.

This is s'cute. If it ever gets old, you can change it to "haven't beaten LSU or a ranked team at home since joining the SEC"

When Kevin Steele ends up with a higher ranked D than Champ and Chavis...........What's the talking point gonna be?

You Ag Tards do know that Chavis has had 50-99 ranked Ds at TN right?

LSU made Champ,Pelini, and Chavis. None of those 3 have had the same consistent success before or after their time at LSU. LSU beat Chavis before he was at LSU with QB draws up the middle, LSU beat Champ at FLA this year with the worst QB in the SEC..........

Kevin Steele will have the best best D in the SEC next year, everyone else overpaid

quote: it’s not hard to imagine that after watching his team finish unranked in 2014 despite fielding the no. 1 total defense in the nation’s most competitive conference, he’s calculating the impact that defense could make when paired with an offense that can actually be counted on to score some damn points. By this logic, Cam would have left after 2013, when he fielded a record-breaking offense but still lost three games because Chavis' defense couldn't stop anybody. A few of Chavis' choice accomplishments from 2012 through 2014, when he supposedly got pissed off because the offense wasn't holding up its end of the bargain: -LSU lost while scoring 40 or more points in regulation for the first time in its history (Georgia 2013) -LSU allowed its most points to Alabama (38) since 1925 (2013) -LSU equaled its most points ever allowed to Auburn (41 in 2014) -In six of its 11 losses in 2012 through 2014, LSU led or was tied in the final two minutes before Chavis' defense gave up the winning or tying score. In five of the six, it led or was tied in the final minute. In four of those five, it led or was tied in the final five seconds. -One of those six losses in which Chavis' defense couldn't make a stop to preserve the win (Clemson 2012) was LSU's first loss to an ACC team (while it was in the ACC) since 1955. If Chavis wants to pretend he's a championship coach that just couldn't get enough help from his offense, he won't fool anybody but a bunch of Aggies with that bull shite.

Pretty much sums it up. Of course with that prolific O that hung 21 on ULM and ZERO on Bama, aTm is setup to run the table next year
