I think Alabama is looking good right now...but out of the 3 options on the table I would say just staying at WSU for another year and getting a raise makes the most sense.

His team will be stacked and Indiana will probably open up.

I very seriously doubt he went to Wichita without feeling damn good about his chances. And with Battle's business and negotiating skills, closing this deal is right up Battle's alley.

I think part of that is just how Marshall handles his process. I think most ADs who meet with him think they have it all moving in their direction. Our AD was positive that he'd hired him last year. Having said that, I think Bama has a shot. Good luck.

Trust me, I don't think it is a done deal. I just like our chances at the moment. From what I understand, we are willing to more than triple his salary and give him the same control over the basketball program that we gave Saban over the football program. Those are some pretty good incentives.

But yeah, it isn't a done deal by any stretch of the imagination until we get him back to Tuscaloosa.

Paul Jr also made sure that Battle went to Wichita with a one-way ticket, with the understanding that we'll fly him back only with a basketball coach sitting next to him.

It is hilarious that bammers are calling people out, yet most of the ones who are gloating in this thread won't be seen or heard if he turns down the job or will only be seen and heard to make a bunch of excuses. I am still skeptical of him taking the job and I will only admit I was wrong when he does accept it

That's about what we were offering.

No, you'll just try to diminish his coaching ability, instead. Everybody knows your worn out song and dance.

Biggest difference is I don't think we had any where near the commitment to spending the money like Bama does. It's pretty useless for your AD to meet with him with only pocket change.

Odds of this actually happening without an insult or some other type of deflection or rationalization?

We are calling you out (yes, you specifically) because in the other thread you said in absolute terms that Marshall would not consider the Alabama job. You already wrong, whether you admit it or not.

I, along with just about all the Bama fans, have NEVER ONCE said we would hire Marshall. I hope we do, I think we have a chance. If he does not come, you have nothing to hold over me...but I'll be here anyway.

And don't kid yourself - if we hire Marshall and he signs a lifetime contract and pisses "Roll Tide" on his front lawn as he drives away...you still won't admit you're wrong. You're just not that type of guy.

I don't know if he'll take the job or not but I called out Pat Forde for saying that Marshall told Bama "not to waste its energy".

You insignificant little butt-monkey. We're laughing at all the people (you included) that said Alabama didn't even have a chance for him and for us "not to even bother", so STFU and crawl back under your rock.....oh, are our thugs still worse that your thugs?
