bammers in this thread proving why most other people view their fan base as the dumbest around.

All crimes aren't the same. Nobody in their right mind would say Zach Mettebenger's crimes were on the same level as Jonathan Taylor or DJ Pettway

It is absolutely true that Bama took a huge risk by taking him in but at the same time at some point Saban and others on staff thought or felt like he could be helped with another chance
It amazes me that someone hasn't compiled a list of kids who have gotten in trouble and have been given a 2nd chance; then became successful, responsible citizens. All schools have examples of this.

I don't know why you're white knighting for Mettsiah. Maybe you really are tGOAT, auburnphan.

There was only one reason for a program like AL to take Taylor. That reason wasn't to provide a kid a second chance.

And who is to blame for the immense pressure to win? Saban? Of course he's driven to win and probably puts some pressure on himself.
But who is it that demands wins at all costs?

The fans and the money.

typical AU poster. Does not get their way and resorts to calling names.

Did no one share their ball with you on the playground? Are you having unresolved issues now in your adulthood?

What an idiotic comparison bucc

Mett slapped an arse while Taylor choked and punched his girlfriend

You're better than that

saban probably shouldn't have signed the guy, but he took a chance and it blew up in his face.

espn, like all talking-point news/media, will milk this for days until something else springs up. the opinion of espn means absolutely nothing.

Saban doesn't give a flying frick if the kid drowns puppies for breakfast and eats human remains for dinner as long as he can play. Neither do a majority of the fans. (Not a lot different than most SEC schools just on a different scale)

They can rape and beat women whatever it takes during their playing years. If it makes them play better it is probably encouraged. After that it is AMF.

Win at any and all cost, frick the rules, frick the NCAA and frick Auburn might as well be painted over the doorway going into the field.

And to their credit, they have made it work.

LSU backed off him upon learning the details of his situation. You are wrong about that, Patton.

The information on the profile page isn't always accurate. That is well known. If you belonged to 24/7 you would know that.

Winning is the only reason Saban does anything. Why even write this article?
Isn't that the reason why anyone successful does anything?

What's wrong with wanting to be the best?

I disagree with him in this situation, but he does have an overall point at redemption and recovery.
