I want to apologize if my last thread was a troll. A lot of LSU fans are bemoaning our inability to have a rational discussion on this board. I want to light a candle in the darkness, so let's begin to rebuild our ability to discuss things rationally.

Rationally, why do you think LSU lost to Kentucky? Bad coaching? Overrated team? Kentucky just that good? Let's discuss this rationally.

Kentucky played well and LSU played poorly. Simple as that.

pitching let us down. Kentucky had 3 errors in each game. that is bad that we lost the series when Kentucky had a total of 9 errors.

The Foster play was really bad as well. bottom 9th, 2 out and bases are empty and the left fielder dives for a fly ball and allows an in the park homerun. keep the ball in front of you and keep the runner to a single and get the next batter.

But oh well need to bounce back against bama

It's one of those weekends every team has during an SEC slate. Kentucky made LSU pay with every mistake, they played scrappy.

The game Friday LSU had a chance to win the game 3 times, a few mistakes by veterans which was surprising and Mainieri wasting the closer for no reason. A base hit with the bases loaded hitting Bregman in the foot and ending an inning and game winning single.

Sunday the starter didn't get out of the 2nd and the pen was beaten pitching 10 innings. If Foster doesn't dive for a shallow base hit LSU wins the series, truly a game of inches.

Glad this weekend is over and that LSU got this out the way early in the year.

That fact that your pretending like we ruined your last LSU thread when you obviously had no desire for rational discussion is ridiculous. That being said I think we lost because the pitching staff was throwing too many melons and because its baseball.

Not bragging or flaming when I mention that UK also took 2 of 3 from #1 LSU's softball team. I just hope they can build some momentum from these two series wins.

Wow. You have to take advantage of that.

Holy crap I just saw how UK tied it. Ouch! How does that even happen? LF has to be smarter than that and LF should have been heads up to help the SS after he eats it.

That's actually our starting second baseman in left. Our starter went out with a hamstring. Foster is a natural outfielder but has been at second most of the season. Absolutely should have known better though.

Wow. Never seen anything like that. Bregman compounded the error by falling down and sitting on the ball. That play-by-play guy had to bite his tounge a couple of times to avoid saying what we really thought. Ouch.

it's baseball, shite happens sometimes. It's not like football where the better team can just lean on their opponents.

We lose 1 series in March and the SECr is in full celebration mode like it means anything

My 8 year-old had a softball tournament yesterday and today and I didn't see any outfielders look that bad.

Was what I said rational?

We are 2 plays away from sweeping UK. Without the stupid Foster play on Sunday, and if Bergman dodges the ball on Friday night we win. Those are two of the most freak plays I've seen in college baseball and they happened in the same weekend.

Plus UK just hit the ball really well, and our pitching wasn't great. They are not a good feilding team though, so we should have taken advantage. Our coach also had some questionable calls but oh well, doesn't really matter anymore.
