I didn't think they played very well except for Towns. Defense was pretty weak.
If he gave ND some credit, which it seems he did, I see nothing wrong with the statement.

That's how I saw it. Seemed to me like the reporter was dissing the SEC and Cal corrected him.
At least one person with whom I watched the game said he came off as a prick, but I appreciate him giving props to conference foes who tested them.

I'd take anything said after the game with a grain of salt. His team just won a crazy game in the elite 8. However, I don't think what he said was disrespectful to anyone at all. Gave respect to the SEC teams that played him close (A&M, LSU). I give him props.

If Cal was 20-12 in the NIT and said the same things, we would all say, "Man Coach JC is so gracious and nice."
Because he has four 7 footers and is 38-0, we say, "Cal sucks. What an a$$hole!"
I thought ND played a great game, but the size of KY made the difference in the end. Also, KY made plays at crunch time, especially Harrison's 3 and free throws.

His speech to the crowd praised Notre Dame for how great they played!
This is ridiculous.
Cal didn't say anything different than Saban says all the time. He praised the other team and then talked about what his team did wrong and needed to do better.
If you think Cal is classless, then you have to say the same about Saban.

Kentucky didn't play well. They shot poorly from the perimeter and didn't defend the paint..put backs on attempted off side blocks. If Townes hadn't been a total mismatch for ND, that game would have been...interesting.
