Yea thanks for the reports. I still cannot understand the fact that Park seemed to not get a lot of reps or just didn't throw the ball very much. I never really thought Faton was a huge contender for the job but from the looks of it he maybe the number two guy. Don't they usually play another scrimmage before the gday game? If so then maybe we will get to see Park with the ones. Or maybe Evil Richt is just going to unleash the beast during the Gday game.

Maybe Bauta and Ramsey were battling for the #2 spot. Maybe Richt and Schott were hoping for some separation on that front. You can't have a three man QB battle for too much longer...

Or maybe Park is too edgy for the top slot and the coaches prefer a boring yes man. Actually, I don't think the above is true--at least I hope not.
I expect the coaches to pick the QB that they think is the best but I want to see some QB rotation in the first two games. Sometimes the guy who is the money player doesn't excel in practice.

Whatever the reason, I hope Ramsey and Bauta didn't get more reps simply because they've been here the longest.
Play the best, please. Period.

If you spent a few minutes around the program, that thought would not even enter your mind.

That right? Well, I've spent enough minutes around the program to remember them starting JTIII over Stafford, so ...

Different situation. There's been more than enough evidence that a freshman will start if they've proven they can under most circumstances.

If you just want to be petulent, go ahead...

That's the same argument people try and bring up every time when saying ''Richt plays whoever has been here longer and not the best players" and it's intellectually lazy.
Though I'm sure Douglas and Hicks didn't like riding the pine while Chubb was getting it done last year. Maybe Richt just had their years mixed up?

Agreed, and I think it will play out that way in this case. QB is the one position that probably puts the most pressure on coaches to go with experience. In this case, there's not really that much difference between the 3 QBs in experience regardless.

I agree because QB is the one of the hardest spots to come in and contribute immediately just based on pure ability. There's just too much to learn.
But like you said, experience is so similar among the 3 that I don't think that will play in too much. Especially with a different OC now.
You can guarantee though that whoever starts, plenty of fans will think his backup is the best.
ETA: regarding the JT3/Stafford thing, I also think Richt learned a lot that year about young talent. He said as much regarding Knowshon redshirting. So prior to that, I think you are right about experience being the most important factor (even in a case like his where it shouldn't have been) but Richt and the others have evolved on that front thankfully.

The intensity was noticeable. Not just the players. It seemed more like a pro practice.
The whole event seemed well orchestrated. I think these extra coaches help in that regard. It was a noticeable difference. Anyone who thinks Richt is resting on his laurels is not paying attention.

That's what I like to hear Peter Buck! Mark Richt really wants another SEC championship and I feel like he is taking this program in the right direction. The extra coaches have been an added benefit and I wanna see the results on the field

They only have like 2 weeks left until G-Day, so I'd wager not many.
