Rewatching the 1983 #3 AU @ #4UGA game (LINK) this afternoon.
1. At time 0:30, the trumpet player just below center screen wearing the shaded glasses is yours truly.
2. At time 11:00, Frank Broyles states a fact that I knew many, many years ago, but had forgotten: "Jackson, big and strong, weighs 228 lbs, runs the 60-yard dash in 6.1 seconds and in fact is faster than Herschel Walker as he beat him in a sprint last Spring." Please feel free to take that factoid to the rant to begin yet another round of Bo vs. Herschel.

3. LT Steve Wallace for Auburn and RT Guy McIntyre for UGA were both long-time linemen for the San Francisco 49'ers when they went to the NFL (McIntyre played OG in the NFL), both winning 3 Super Bowls with the 49'ers and both winning multiple All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections.

Kevin Butler and Al Delgreco would both play for years in the NFL. Lots of great players on both sides.
I remember watching Butler kick at Redan HS in Atlanta.

One other thing about that season and you hear them mention it briefly...Auburn won the game just prior to this UGA game against an out of conference foe. Maryland. They had this QB named Boomer. Esiason.
Got dam best football game I ever saw. I sweated bullets the whole game because it was "lets trade touchdowns" the whole game. Maddening.
30 years ago and I remember that game like yesterday. YESTERDAY.
Wife gets pissed cause I cant remember where the mayo is in our grocery store we've been going to for 15 years but I can remember down and distance on football games.

Donnie Humphrey's (RIP) recovered a fumble for a TD to put the game out of reach of the Terps.
If memory serves, Tommy Agee had a career game against'em.

Yup. He did. The UGA broadcast mentions it and UGA focused on Agee. Maryland practiced so hard for the Lionel and Bo part of the triple option they forgot about a freshman FB.
Georgia then focused hard on Agee and got eaten up by Little Train and Bo. Mostly Lionel James.
I ran into Lionel James coming out of the 2013 SECCG and had a selfie with him. He was so surprised somebody remembered him. I was very surprised because he was awesome at Auburn and for the Chargers in the NFL. Great guy. Cherished picture.

Little Train set NFL records in 1985 for combined all-purpose (rushing/receiving/kick return/punt return) yards (2535 yards) and receiving yards by a running back (1027).
His all-purpose yards record wasn't broken until the year 2000 by Derrick Morgan (2690 yards) and his receiving yards by a running back was broken in 1999 by Marshall Faulk (1048 yards).
It still is amazing to me that he only played in the league for 5 years.

I met my wife that Fall as well, while in Ms. Hayes 6th grade class.

I'm old, so shoot me!
We have dated other people, but when you find the right one, you lock it down.
Wish we had married sooner. Would give her less ammo to work with!

We got married when I was a senior at Auburn. 21 years old. Will be married 33 years in August. Let me tell you, they get the ammo regardless...
Congrats though. If you find the right girl, you lock it down. I did before she could figure out what a raw deal that was!
