No my recommendation actually matches yours. Try the Glenlivet 15. You can try it by the glass at any bar for about 1.5x well price. If you like that, move on to Lagavulin, MacAllan. If you don't like that there's something wrong with you. Stay away from blended

I wouldn't drink Scotch to get drunk. The hangovers are horrible.

Not a scotchie, but I had some Bourgogne blanc cask aged 10 yr old glen moray. Thought it was tasty.
