How many SEC titles in a row Fulmer would have won in the 90s?

He was the last coach to repeat as SEC champions.

Had he not also been taking down Bama and their cheating ways. Him as Tennessee AD would certainly be keeping an eye on Bama and getting the playing field level again.

Shitty bait.

Fulmer would have still been owned by the HBC.

1997 SEC champions
1998 SEC champions

Name the last football coach to win back to back SEC titles?

He did this while taking Bama down.

Imagine how many he would have won had he had a QB like Peyton Manning. Just imagine

I bet the Tennessee fans would enjoy discussing this on the Tennessee board.

Fulmer's record vs. Mark Richt: 3-5
Fulmer's record vs. Spurrier: 5-9
Fulmer's record vs. Tuberville: 3-4
Fulmer's record vs. Saban: 1-4
Fulmer's record vs. Meyer: 0-4

He benefited greatly from facing a much worse batch of coaches during the 90s.

His numbers against Richt, Spurrier, Tuberville, Saban and Meyer are a combined 12-26.

Winning less than one out of three big games wouldn't cut it today. Although to be fair that is substantially better than Tennessee has done in football since he was there.

Tennessee would pay top dollar for a coach that can get 1 win per year against Florida, Georgia and Alabama

Mark Richt

Does not belong being mentioned with Spurrier, Urban, Saban or Tubbs. Those four all have either a national title or an undefeated season in the SEC to their name.

Richt qualifies because he is simply a much better overall human being than Fulmer.

Didn't he lose to Memphis in the 90s?

You left out a key element. Not only was he busy building a case against Alabama, he was also spending time running his own cheating system, sending money to Tee Martin through Diane Sanford, and cutting backroom deals to keep the heat focused toward Bama and away from his own dirty laundry. AND he had to spend time trying to keep Tennessee Stud's contact with players out of the newspapers.

Fulmer was one hell of a multi-tasker. Great point.

Do y'all really want to start this? Do the names Logan Young (Federal conviction) and Tom Albetar, T-Town Menswear (disassociated from Alabama) mean anything to you?
