What do you think of Jerry Meyer's CB?

State is a bubble team at best

But before today it was

State has no chance to make the tournament.

Kentucky
Florida
Arkansas
LSU
Vandy
A&M

All will get bids. how many bids do you think they're going to give the SEC?

It doesn't. His dad is a legacy at a traditionally shite basketball school, and your team isn't going to the dance in his one season. At least Ole Miss has a new arena on the way

LOL

You asked what I wanted, and you deliver.

The amount at which you suck Ole Miss off is astounding for an LSU fan.

Suck Ole miss off? So it's sucking off when I don't troll, but I'd be your typical rant poster if I trolled them?

All I've ever said is that they have a good shot at some Louisiana football recruits. otherwise I don't know what you're talking about

Man, I'm just giving you a hard time because you keep insisting on the fact that State was not going to get Malik.

They may not still but giving you a hard time about saying it every chance you get will still be fun.

LSU may have a talented roster, but his dad played at State, yet that is dismissed as a non factor.

Y'all may like Jones, but he is not an elite coach. He is an elite recruiter, but not coach.

Just because State doesn't have a great roster this season doesn't mean we don't currently have a better coach either.

Dude even with Malik MSU would have very little chance at getting to the tournament next year. Even the NIT might be out of reach. Let's take a look at what Ben Howland has done in the first two years every where he's ever been a HC.

Northern Arizona
Year 1: 9-17
Year 2: 7-19

Pitt
Year 1: 13-15
Year 2: 19-14

UCLA
Year 1: 11-17
Year 2: 18-11.

Next year will likely be a struggle for y'all. Unless Malik plans on staying for 2 years, it doesn't make much sense to go to State.

I don't know much about Northern Arizona but Pitt and UCLA both play in conferences that are superior to the SEC in basketball.

While it has improved, the SEC isn't getting 7-8 bids next year and Howland can make a much better jump in year one at State in the SEC than he did at either of those other two places.

Yeah, that's all I've reinforced in the Newman threads I've posted in. State is the least talented team he's considered, and it's not really close.

also, to say jones is an elite recruiter but not coach is pretty ironic given their recent hire

I definitely think the SEC could get 6-7 bids next year. Kentucky will be Kentucky, Arky will likely bring back Portis, LSU is bringing in the No.1 recruit in the country, TAMU brings almost everything back and adds a top 10 class, Florida will bounce back, Vandy was extremely young and will surprise people next year, and Auburn has Pearl and is getting a top 15 class. The SEC got 5 last year and will undoubtedly be improved next year.

State fans you still don't get it.

We don't need Malik. We want him. Our season doesn't depend on him. We will make the NCAA tourney just fine.

Without malik your likely finishing last in the conference. Hell, you probably still will. However, I stll feel like all this is just response to the Howland hire. Once he sits down and really gets a feelfpr things he'll realize the shithole that is Starkville is not the place to advance a career.

This thread is now pure platinum. Thanks to me for posting and all you participants. In reality, this is just another high profile Mississippi player that Lsu thinks they have wrapped around their finger when in actuality the kid teases the smelly coon corn dog nation to the fullest. At the end of the day he signs with his home state school, the school that has the better coach, the school that will pack the arena for him every home game, the school where he can make a program changing impact, a school where his hero, his Dad played ball at. A school that previously beat the school, that thinks they have him wrapped up. It's time to move on corn dogs, I'm sure it was a fun thought while it lasted. Malik is going to do what's best for Malik. Just like Leo Lewis and Jamal Peters did and join the "People's University" The Mississippi State University.
