It's a nightmare. We're essentially on probation and we didn't do anything wrong

I do not know but it's already cost us 2 top 100 players in this class and any hope of having a solid team next season. Cannot allow it to cost us another class.

If there is no resolution in the next few months I would fire him.

The only problem with that is if we fire him and he comes out clean, we have to pay the buyout, and we're considered a toxic program.

that has to frick up recruiting

Could Tennessee be worse next season? They lose Richardson and have no impact player coming in.

4* SG Chris Clarke and 4* PG Marcus Lovett.

Clarke is a top 40 player who was committed to Tennessee and planning to sign the week the Jason King article came out. Lovett was supposed to announce later that week but decided to wait until the spring and Tennessee seems to be out of it now.

If this gets cleared up you are likely looking at a lineup of

PG: Gray (JUCO transfer)/Bonds (transfer from Liberty who was ineligible this season)
SG: Punter/Mostella
SF: Hubbs/Phillips (frosh)
PF: Moore/Reese/Schofield (frosh)
C: McGhee (injured this season)/Owens/Carmichael

NIT at best.

We will likely be very active in the transfer/5th year market as well but it will be tough to get anyone with this hanging over us.

This has essentially been an indefinite recruiting ban for Tyndall.

ETA: If Tyndall is cleared he likely gets a free extra year. But either way not sniffing the tourney in his first 2 years will put a lot of pressure on him in year 3.

I feel for you Vols. Sucks to be in that position and hope it gets resolved soon.

I echo this sentiment. It's got to be hell to be in that situation. Recruiting/coaching purgatory. I hope it is over with soon.

Some rumors floating around the Vol beacons that it might be over tomorrow when the NCAA informs Tennessee what is going to be in the letter of allegation.

Tyndall could be done, it's over.

I've heard that he has it set up where all the assistants at Southern Miss were directly connected with the issue and that Tyndall would be hit with a failure to monitor violation and get a 5-10 game suspension.

I think Hart sticks with him if that's all it is...even though it would be scary having a head coach that has 2 strikes already with the NCAA...but I guess Calipari has two as well and does fine.
