His father is to blame and I can honestly agree with you there. A son will follow his father through hell, and that man kooked his boy out from day one..

Obama made the trade, against advisement, and illegally. Why he did it? I don't know for sure, but I have a few ideas, that would make Stonehog and Gladius Veritas cry.

The question now is whether or not he will be convicted.

He created a controversy to get the citizens minds of the controversy he was embroiled in at the time.

He's done it several times and somehow has worked out each time.

A classic move that has worked for politicians since the beginning of time. Until people cease being distracted by shiny objects and focus on the issues, it'll continue to work.

I'd say he will be as it looks pretty clear he deserted but then he became a prisoner within about 30 mins. That said, I doubt the amount of time you deserted matters in a case like this as far as conviction goes but it may matter in terms of the sentence.

I honestly don't know what we can do to him that could possibly be any worse than what the terrorists who had him did. Damn fool has already caused plenty of his own punishment at their hands.

Can we make him give back all of the pay he received whilst being a guest of those misunderstood Muslims?

Put him in general population at Gitmo, if there is such a thing. If not, just change the rules to make shower time for Bergdahl communal.
