The fans wanted Pearl back, we had every opportunity to get him back, Hart didn't want him.

Ok.

Fans wanted Marshall, could have gotten Marshall, Hart was too cheap.

:sigh: Ok

Fans wanted Howland, could have EASILY gotten Howland, Hart was worried about the NCAA, Howland is now at Mississippi State.

Ok

Hart hires Tyndall, doesn't do his due diligence, and now we're virtually on probation waiting to find out what the frick he did at Southern Miss and whether or not we have to fire him.

He could not have possibly fricked this up more.

Vols are done, it's over

eta: but seriously, that does suck. Hart's son has done an incredible job at SMU though

Correct. Very bad job by Hart.

Imo Tyndall is a pretty good coach/recruiter, but this 6 month purgatory period has pretty much cost us an additional season.

At least an additional season. And that's if he's clean.

Gee, the guy was once black listed from coaching because of shady recruiting tactics and indiscretions with the NCAA. Then he broke NCAA rules. Lied about them to investigators and Tennessee. Told a recruit's father to lie about it. And got slapped with a three year "show-cause".

I can only imagine why Hart wasn't beating down his door to rehire him.

Are you Clay Travis? The same guy who was convinced Jon Gruden was en route to Tennessee? Tennessee is not a destination job in any sport. Marshall is a top 10 coach. Tennessee may have been a top 25 program when Pearl had it rolling, but now its (at best) third in its own division.

Yep.

Cost us Chris Clarke and Marcus LoVett at least.

We MUST get this cleared up soon or it will cost us the fall signing period as well. If that happens you fire him no matter what.

I'm not sure how loyal he'd be to SMU, but the school is as committed as ever to having a top tier athletic program

-hired Larry Brown
-hired Chad Morris...I think he's the real deal
-big mid-major hires
-nice facility upgrades

he probably makes great money and gets to live in Highland Park, so I'd stay put

Plus, Tyndall would then be on the next strike and you and the school are done policy if he fricks up again. I say cut him lose and start over.

I get that, and this is totally understandable and reasonable, IF he doesn't whiff on Howland, Marshall and hire another guy with a history of NCAA issues.

ETA: Just saw your edit, comparing what I said in the OP with the John Gruden tards is why nobody else should respond to anything else you say in this thread.

No way Tennessee was not a better job last spring than Bama is now. Tennessee was coming off its 5th sweet 16 in 8 years when they were making a hire last spring and Tennessee has better facilities and fan support.

The point is if he is willing to go to Bama for a huge payday, there is no reason he would not be willing to do the same to come to Tennessee.

Yeah, Thompson Arena alone makes Tennessee one hell of a destination.

I'm pretty sad you retired your Quarterman quote, though even you have to admit that baw has shown serious promise.

Not gonna happen. Then we wouldn't be able to control things up in Knoxville.

Maybe Tennessee just shouldn't have athletics.

Say that happens, is the job more toxic than it is right now?
