Tickets start at $105.00. I won't be participating. Not only that, but Sloss Furnace in July is going to be hotter than the second level of Hell.

Not bad at all.

Hardly an excuse not to go. We are Alabamaians, we've been dealing with July heat our whole lives. Big deal.

Red Mountain pre sale password is STEAM. Saves you about $12 a ticket as well.

Just checked out all of the bands on youtube. Definitely not paying anything close to $100 to go. That last headliner would have to be a band I absolutely love to get me to even consider it.

Then it's a definite "No" from me.

Just comparing it to the Shaky Knees festival, I would definitely go to Sloss if they were able to get either Flogging Molly or Social Distortion.

Sorry you're poor. In all seriousness, $100 for 2 days. It will be well worth it. It's 10 hours a day.. You're literally paying $5 an hour.

I could easily afford the cost. I'm just not that interested in the bands that will be there. Why pay $100 to listen to music I don't like?

Also, it will cost more than $100 if you stay out there all day both days (food, beer, water will probably cost an extra $50).

I like a few Modest Mouse and a few Primus songs. 6 songs isn't worth $150.

I was joking about the poor part. Obviously its your decision if you go or not and if you don't think it is worth it don't come. However, as a lifelong Alabama resident and new Birmingham resident, I think it is something worth supporting. Birmingham is trying to become a city that attracts new residents and visitors especially to the city center. Events like this are what is going to get it to that level. I've heard of some of the bands, not a die hard fan of any of them but I'm going to this to support my state, support my city, and hopefully have a little fun along the way.
